CATDOLL: What kind of animal is the scorpion?

1. What kind of animal is the scorpion?

Scorpions are arachnids, the same class as spiders and horseshoe crabs. Their typical features include an elongated body, sting, and a curved, segmented tail with a stinger. The earliest scorpions on land appeared about 430 million years ago during the Silurian period.

It belongs to the phylum Arthropoda, class Arachricla, order Scorpionida. There are about 800 species of scorpions in the world, and there are more than 10 species of scorpions in my country. The one commonly used as medicine is the East Asian scorpion (Buthus martensii Karsch), also known as the Martens scorpion, which belongs to the Buthidae family of the order Scorpionida. The East Asian scorpion has the largest number and the widest distribution, covering more than 10 provinces in my country, among which Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Hubei, Liaoning and other provinces have a large distribution.

2. What kind of creature is a scorpion?

First of all, scorpions are carnivorous animals, and they mainly feed on various insects, spiders, crickets, etc.

Whether they are wild or artificially bred, scorpions live together in families.

When scorpions hunt, they sometimes take the initiative to look for their prey, and sometimes sit still and wait for their prey to come into their sight.

Scorpions are arachnids. They are not only a delicacy, but also a precious Chinese medicinal material with high economic value.

3. What are the appearance characteristics and living habits of scorpions?

The characteristics and life features of the scorpion in "Insect Life" are: the hermit who is "silent, lives in secrecy, and is inherently boring" - the scorpion is a coward.

Scorpions are mostly active at night. Once they encounter prey, they immediately clamp it with their tentacles, hook their tails, and inject venom with their stingers to kill the prey. Some venomous scorpions can even kill humans.

Scorpions are not only ferocious to their prey, but also cruel to their own relatives. Before mating, the male and female scorpions will hold each other's legs and arms together and dance for hours. Once the male scorpion has completed fertilization, the female scorpion will show its ferocious side and bite the male scorpion to death for food.

Scorpion body structure

Scorpions first appeared on land in the Silurian period 430 million years ago and belong to the class of arachnids. The most special thing about their appearance is that they have a high, lute-like tail.

This is its main weapon against enemies, and its lethality should not be underestimated. An adult scorpion is generally 50-60 mm long, with a hard, highly chitinous skin on the entire body, and distinct body segments.

The scorpion's body consists of a head, thorax, abdomen, and tail. The body is yellow, with the abdomen and limbs being lighter in color. The head and thorax are composed of six segments, in a trapezoidal shape, with a head armor on the back.

There is a pair of central eyes in the center of the back of the body, 3 lateral eyes on each side of the front, and 6 pairs of appendages. The front abdomen is wide and consists of 7 segments. The back abdomen is a long and narrow part that is easy to bend, consisting of 5 body segments and a stinger. Scorpions are dioecious. Overall, their bodies are mainly slender, stinging, curved and segmented, and the stinging tail is poisonous.

4. What is the zodiac sign of Scorpio?

Scorpio is the zodiac sign of the twelve constellations, not the Chinese zodiac.
