1. Transfer the pupae to a breeding box for centralized pupation. When placing the pupae in the box, do not place them too thickly; 1 to 2 layers are appropriate. In addition, spread about 1 cm of wheat bran in the box. Because wheat bran is relatively soft, it can protect the pupae from damage. It can also provide feed after the pupae emerge as adults, reducing the chance of biting other pupae. 2. Do not turn over or squeeze the insect body during the entire emergence process. Pupae have strict requirements on temperature and humidity during emergence. The suitable temperature for pupae during emergence is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, and the air humidity is about 50 to 70 percent. 3. Sorting adults. Generally, under the condition of temperature and air temperature of 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, 90% of the pupae will emerge as adults after 7 to 10 days. Because the emergence time is inconsistent, if the pupae are not picked out in time, they are likely to emerge first.
