Is raising wild boars profitable?

Wild boar farming has been going on for more than 20 years since the early 1990s. Although the farming volume has been expanding year by year, not many farms are actually making money. Except for a few large-scale farms, most of them are basically not profitable, especially small-scale farmers, who have neither technology nor funds. The breeding environment and facilities are not suitable for wild boar farming, not to mention marketing. More than 90% of them are losing money.

I want to open a small fish shop

People's interest in fish can be divided into two categories - eating and viewing. Fish farming was originally a way to store fresh food, and later fish with unique colors and shapes were gradually raised for ornamental purposes. Now, anyone can keep fish, regardless of home conditions. For residents living in high-rise buildings, keeping other pets may not be feasible or prohibited, but fish can be kept. In addition, pet fish do not need to be trained, have fur that will dirty the house, will not escape, and are quiet by nature, so they will not disturb family members or neighbors. The breeding and management of ornamental fish will increase your knowledge. For example, observing the habits of fish can deepen your interest in biology; studying fish species living in natural environments will enrich your geographical knowledge; even the calculation of stocking density will exercise your calculation ability. Raising fish can also cultivate children's qualities of caring and loving other creatures. It can be said to be an ideal way to guide children to love animals.

Tips for choosing goldfish

There are many varieties of goldfish with different characteristics, some are good and some are inferior. You should carefully select them when buying. Generally speaking, the best goldfish should be fat and well-proportioned, with a wide, round and short body, symmetrical eyes, and a plump and well-developed head tumor without deformity. When selecting, pay attention to whether the goldfish has broken fins or fallen scales; whether the fins are forked into four parts, if not four parts but three parts or no forks, it is a defective product. When swimming, the fins should be wide and stretched, like a streamer. The skin of the goldfish should be bright, clear and bright, and the color should be pure. For example, some goldfish varieties are originally black, if they turn gray or black-gray, they are not good. When selecting goldfish, you should also pay attention to whether the goldfish swims in the water? Is it sociable when swimming? Does it often shake its head (i.e., call for water); if it is leaning on the side without moving or just shaking its head without moving its body, it looks very tired, then it is a sick fish. A good goldfish should be sociable and not float around. In addition, when buying goldfish, it is best to put the goldfish and water in a plastic bag at the same time to avoid breaking the fish scales.

The sex of goldfish can be identified after 2-3 months. Female fish are generally short with clear demarcation marks, and their four fins are oval and soft. Their abdomen is soft and swollen, and their cloaca is loose and large. During the breeding season, there are no white spots on their pectoral fins and gill covers. Male fish are longer than female fish. Their abdomen is oval, with tightly arranged scales, and their cloaca is tight and small. Their four fins are diamond-shaped and hard, and they are more active than female fish. During the breeding season, there are neatly arranged silver stars on their pectoral fins and gill covers. When goldfish spawn in spring, female fish appear to be potbellied, while male fish are like shining silver stars. It is not difficult to distinguish them with careful observation.

Tips for choosing fish feed

Choice of tropical fish feed: For carnivorous tropical fish, red spider worms are the best feed, which should be cleaned before feeding. In the winter in the north, water earthworms can be used as live bait, which can live for 1 month in a container. In addition, paramecium and rotifers can also be fed. Other baits are roughly the same as those for goldfish.

Selection of goldfish feed: The fish worms used to feed goldfish should be washed repeatedly, and they can only be fed when the color changes from purple to bright red. Freshly dead fish worms can be fed to ordinary goldfish, but spoiled fish worms cannot be fed to goldfish. The dried fish worms should be soft. Water earthworms are one of the best feeds. Fresh ones are bright red or dark red in color. They can be kept in shallow water containers and the water should be changed frequently.

If you want to feed cakes, you should wrap them with paper first, wait for 48 hours until the fat is absorbed by the paper, then cut them into pieces and dry them in the sun. But remember that the amount of food should be small rather than large. As for biscuits and bread, you can crush them and feed them directly. Noodles and rice grains must be cooked and rinsed with water before feeding. Other artificial baits can also be fed appropriately.

Selection of goldfish container

To raise goldfish in the courtyard, you can choose a ceramic pot, plant aquatic plants such as duckweed, locust leaf lotus, and arrowhead mushrooms, and cover the mouth of the ceramic pot with wire mesh. The inner wall of the ceramic pot should preferably be light-colored and without patterns. Glassware is commonly used for raising goldfish indoors, and there are three types according to the appearance: ① Round tank. It is suitable for raising small goldfish of 5 cm to 7 cm in length, and generally 2 to 4 are limited. It has a refraction effect, and the side view of the goldfish has a magnifying effect. ② Rectangular tank. It has a large volume and can raise large goldfish over 8 cm. ③ Wall-mounted fish tank. It is triangular in shape, with a frame on the outward side, like a moving painting.

Fish life span

Generally speaking, larger fish have longer lifespans. Artificially bred fish are not vulnerable to predators and thus have longer lifespans than fish in the wild. The lifespan of fish varies from species to species. Some "seasonal" fish may only live for a year, while large freshwater tropical fish and cold-water fish may live for 10 years. As marine fish have a relatively short history of artificial breeding, it is not possible to accurately estimate their lifespan limits.

Feeding Tips for Goldfish in Summer

Midsummer is the season when the main food of goldfish, "red worms", grows the most and fastest. In addition, the water temperature and air temperature are high, which makes goldfish more active and have a strong appetite. Therefore, if they are well raised and managed, midsummer will be the best season for goldfish to grow and develop. However, the climate is hot and humid during the hot summer, so special care should be taken in raising and managing them. First, the water level in the fish tank (basin) should be appropriately deepened, and the water temperature should be controlled to not exceed 28℃. When the sunlight is strong in the middle of the day and in the afternoon, the fish tank can be moved to a cool place indoors. Do not feed them in the middle of the day. Secondly, the water temperature is high in midsummer, the dissolved oxygen content in the water is low, and plankton is easy to die and decay. If there is a shower, it is more likely to be hypoxic. You can clean the dirt on the water surface every evening (preferably around seven or eight o'clock), suck out the fish feces and dirt at the bottom of the tank (basin), and inject the stored clean water at the same time; in addition, the number of water changes increases in midsummer, and the temperature difference of the water cannot be neglected. The fish tank (basin) and the stored water should be placed indoors so that the temperature of the replaced water is almost the same as the original water temperature, which is conducive to the free movement of goldfish.

Tips for keeping goldfish safe during the winter

After the Frost Descent, the temperature is low and cold. At this time, the activity and eating of goldfish are greatly reduced, and they are in a semi-dormant state. In order to prevent goldfish from losing weight, maintain their healthy physique and normal gonad development, and let them spend the winter safely, the following should be noted in management: ① The fish tank should be placed in a well-lit place indoors, and the room temperature should be kept above 4℃ to make the goldfish have a certain appetite. ② Keep the water quality fresh and change the water less. Change the water at noon. When changing the water, just pump out the fish feces and dirt at the bottom of the tank, and then inject new water. ③ Feed less and feed fine bait. Feed once at noon every 2 to 4 days. If it coincides with the water change time, feed after the water change. Live earthworms, dried earthworms or synthetic baits are better. The amount of feed should be eaten within half an hour, and it should increase or decrease with the temperature. Hibernating fish do not need to be fed. As long as the management is strengthened, goldfish can spend the winter safely. If you raise fish in a pond, you should thoroughly wash away the dirt and moss in the pond before wintering to prevent the production of hydrogen sulfide that damages the water quality. If you need to change the water, you must let it settle for a few days before using it. A fish pond that is sheltered from the wind and facing the sun and has a water depth of about 40 cm can overwinter in the open without changing the water throughout the winter.

Common knowledge about changing water for fish farming at home

Although raising fish is simple, changing water is not a simple subject. If you want to raise fish well, you must master some basic knowledge of changing water. Most fish like to live in the original water. If you replace all the water in the fish tank and add fresh tap water, it will be extremely dangerous to the life of the fish. This is because tap water contains a lot of chlorides, which are chronic poisons for fish. After the fish eat these "poisons", the fish body will be damaged at the lightest, and will die immediately at the worst. Therefore, before changing the water, you must first leave the water for a day. It can only be used after some of the chemicals in the water evaporate, and the amount of water changed each time should not exceed half, in order to allow the fish to have an adaptation process. When changing the water in the tank, you must also pay attention to the difference in water temperature. The difference in water temperature should not be too large, generally 2℃~5℃ is appropriate. But it also depends on the type of fish. For example, fish such as goldfish and red swordfish can tolerate a large temperature difference, but seven-color fairyfish cannot. If the water temperature difference is large, the fish will appear listless and it will take a long time to recover. In severe cases, it may even suffocate and die immediately.
