1. Chemical control

To control ants at the roots of vegetables, pyrethroids and organophosphorus pesticides can be used, such as 1500 times of 5.7% cyfluthrin EC (also known as cypermethrin), 800 times of 2.5% highly effective cyfluthrin EC (also known as kungfu cypermethrin) spray, or 600 times of 50% phoxim EC, and other pests can be controlled at the same time. If root rot occurs in the rapeseed seedling stage, 300-500 times of 70% hyamoxam wettable powder or 600 times of 60% chlorpyrifos wettable powder can be used for root irrigation.

Timely tillage can cut off the ants' walking routes, which can effectively reduce the damage caused by ants in vegetable and rapeseed fields. 3. Avoidance and trapping. Yellow ants are more sensitive to green onions and garlic. Generally, vegetable fields near green onions and garlic are rarely damaged by ants. The farmyard manure used for basal fertilizer for vegetables, rapeseed and other crops must be fully decomposed to avoid attracting ants. As ants like fishy and sweet smells, plates or other containers filled with molasses can be placed in the fields to lure ants, and then the ants can be killed by pouring boiling water or using drugs.

4. Soil treatment can prevent ants from harming vegetable seeds. Ants will also eat or carry vegetable seeds such as lettuce, cabbage, and pepper seeds, especially in the scattered vegetable fields in the south, which will cause uneven emergence of vegetable seeds. It is recommended to mix phoxim with base fertilizer (farmyard manure), which can effectively kill or repel yellow ants and prevent underground pests; you can also use some ant medicine (such as ant killer [) on the vegetable seedling bed, and apply it according to the instructions to protect the vegetable seeds from germination. If the soil is acidic, quicklime can be applied to adjust the pH value and repel ants.
