How many details do you know about how to quickly attract bees? How to raise bees in soil, how to choose a location, how to place the bucket, so as to quickly attract bees? Success lies in the details. I will explain every step and every detail from beginning to end, and tell you in a practical way. After reading, you can practice it. 1. Details of beeswax production and application The old honeycombs of old nest wax can be boiled by yourself to make pure natural beeswax. The color and taste of beeswax will be different. This is one of the characteristics of natural beeswax and will not affect the bees' love for it. If you buy beeswax, open the package, prepare a gas stove and a pot, light the fire and start boiling the wax. No need to add water. Put the wax directly in the pot. Pure natural beeswax will produce fermentation enzymes at high temperatures. For a barrel with a lid like this, the lid is facing the door, and the inside and outside of the lid should be brushed. If you want to use a lid, put the barrel horizontally, and brush the side of the barrel more, because the side is the top. For a barrel without a lid, it is upside down when it is placed, so this is the top of the barrel, so here is the top of the barrel, so here you have to brush the sealing wax, the side of the barrel is the slot door, and you have to brush it inside and outside. Whether you use a barrel or a wooden box, there are three key positions for applying wax, the top of the barrel, the outside of the slot door, and the inside of the slot door. Just brush the wax on these three places. If you use a barrel to lure bees, there is not much space inside, so we can brush it appropriately. One pound of beeswax can apply about six to eight barrels. 2. After the beeswax is applied, start looking for a location Buckets are preferred in areas with water sources, nectar sources, and bee sources, and our success rate will be higher. For example, if you encounter a longan tree that is leaving honey around an old house, in this environment, the old house is the most prominent landmark. You can put a bucket next to the old house. In this area, if there are many buckets, you can put one bucket. Corn fields are also OK, longan trees are flowing honey...Scout bees will definitely come to these places to find a new home. Every tree here is basically the same size and relatively dense. So what is the most obvious thing here? The fence and the blue iron sheet. We chose the corner of the fence, facing the door, which is relatively open and easy to be discovered by bees. The first function is to make the bees feel safe. The second is that the bucket is not like a wooden box. Once the sun shines inside, it will be very hot. Be sure to do a good job of sun protection. It is not that difficult to lure bees. Choose a good location and do the details of placing the barrel. From March to June and September to November every year is the swarming period. The success rate of luring bees is very high and can be used at ordinary times. 3. Notes The flowering period and swarming period of each region are different. What is the nectar source in your area? If there is a large nectar flow, you can put the bucket near it. The location should preferably be a place with obvious landmarks, such as the lower half of a big tree, under the stone wall around an old house. No matter where you choose to put the bucket, be sure to protect it from the sun. Bees like shade and open space facing the door. The sunny here does not mean that the bucket is exposed to the sun, but facing the door and the light, so that the bees can enter and exit easily. 1. Learn to “sit back and wait for the rabbit”. When we lure bees, there is a place where we must set up a bee luring bucket. This place is where we can lure bees from time to time. This place with a high probability of attracting bees must have natural conditions that attract bee colonies. The bees often came back in the past, and there is still a high probability of bees coming now. 2. Learn to observe pathfinder bees. Before any bee colony chooses a new home, there will be bee scouts who come to "inspect" in advance, so when attracting bees in the wild, you must learn to observe these scout bees. They often fly back and forth in a place suitable for settling down, sometimes coming over several times, but they are not collecting honey. This behavior is often the behavior of scout bees. The first is time, because the time is different in every place. The second is tools, which mainly include beehives and bee holes. The last one is to choose a location according to the bees' nesting habits. There should be a relatively abundant and continuous nectar source nearby, that is, plants with different flowering periods in four seasons to provide nectar sources. There should be no natural enemies (such as wasps) to disturb the hive, and there should be a water source for the bees to collect water, so that the bees can grow steadily. It takes patience to lure bees, check the bee trapping situation regularly, and add beeswax appropriately. After luring the bees, the bees should be transferred to a normal beehive in time, and then the bee trapping site should be restored to its original state before luring the next group of bees. Hornets are flying everywhere in summer. How to prevent them from disturbing bees?Hello everyone, welcome to read my article. Today is another day of popular science. Today I am studying how to prevent wasps from disturbing bees in summer when they are flying everywhere. July has arrived. The rising temperature has also brought about a decrease in the source of nectar and pollen. The food that wasps can easily obtain has decreased, so they have begun to turn their targets to bees. If prevention and control are not timely during this period, it is easy to cause the wasps in the bee farm to proliferate, causing heavy losses to the bee colony. Today I will share with you a method of preventing and controlling wasps that my friend has personally tested and found to be effective. 1. Make the key tools first -- Wasp trap. The wasp trap is very simple to make. You only need to prepare a waste plastic beverage bottle (such as a large barrel of Sprite bottle), and use scissors to cut the bottle near the narrowing point to form a cylindrical bottom and a funnel-shaped top. Don't use the bottle cap, and put the funnel-shaped top bottle mouth down on the cylindrical bottom, fix it, and a simple wasp trap is ready. 2. Make attractants Since wasps mainly feed on meat, fruit, and nectar, you can put these foods or liquids with a sweet and sour fermented smell in the trap as attractants. My friend gave me a suggestion for the ratio of attractants, which you can use as a reference: half a pound of sugar, half a pound of water, and three ounces of vinegar. 3. Place 1-2 wasps (dead or alive) in the trap It is strange to say that, with the same traps and the same attractants, in a bee farm, some traps can catch many wasps, while some traps can catch none at all. After observing for a period of time, it was found that the waiting time is often the longest when catching the first few wasps, but as long as there are wasps in the trap, more and more wasps will rush to the same trap. We speculate that it may be that the first wasps will secrete some pheromones, or that wasps also need pioneers, and only after seeing companions in the trap will they feel more confident and bold to come in. Therefore, it is recommended to put 1-2 wasps in the trap, which can also serve as an attractant. You can stun the hornets, then catch them and pile them up on the lid of the beehive. This will effectively prevent hornet infestations. It needs to be managed regularly and removed in time so that the problem can be better solved. You can use the slapping method, you can use a wooden board to slap the wasps near the bee farm. This can effectively remove the wasps. It needs to be beaten, and some wooden boards can be used to beat it, which can effectively solve this problem. |
