CATDOLL: In Journey to the West, Tang Monk is the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi. So what is the origin of Jin Chanzi?

In Journey to the West, Tang Monk is the reincarnation of Jin Chanzi. So what is the origin of Jin Chanzi?

Jin Chanzi was originally a golden cicada on a bodhi tree, who listened to the Buddha under the bodhi tree for a long time. After listening for a long time, Jin Chan had a lot of insights, and realized a lot of profound Buddhist teachings, and then because of his sudden enlightenment, he became a Buddha. He was accepted as a disciple by the Buddha under the bodhi tree, and the Buddha gave him the name Jin Chanzi, and he practiced Buddhism with the Buddha from then on. This is the story of the golden cicada escaping from its shell that we often heard before, and the golden cicada escaping from its shell also means rebirth.

The golden cicada is also a symbol of longevity. So after the golden cicada made a mistake, he was banished to the mortal world by Tathagata to experience tribulations. That’s why there are rumors that eating Tang Monk’s meat can make one immortal. By the end of Journey to the West, no monster had eaten Tang Monk’s meat, so whether Tang Monk’s meat can make one immortal is also an unsolved mystery. It was Guanyin Bodhisattva who spread the rumor that eating Tang Monk’s meat can make one immortal, and Guanyin Bodhisattva said this mainly to add 81 difficulties to Tang Monk’s journey to the West. So Guanyin Bodhisattva should know best whether Tang Monk’s meat can make one immortal.

Tang Sanzang's previous life, Jin Chanzi, was Tathagata's favorite second disciple. When Tathagata was practicing Buddhism under the Bodhi tree, there was also a jade rabbit. The first thing Tathagata saw was this jade rabbit, so he accepted her as his eldest disciple. In fact, if you think about it carefully, Jin Chanzi did not make any big mistakes in Lingshan. She just dozed off during class, so she was demoted to experience tribulations. It happened that Tang Dynasty Emperor Li Shimin was haunted by ghosts, and Tang Sanzang and his disciples went to the West to obtain scriptures and popularize Buddhism. They promoted Buddhism. Besides, Taoism was also popular at that time, so there was suspicion of competition between Buddhism and Taoism. Tathagata seemed to be punishing Jin Chanzi, but in fact he sent his favorite and most trusted second disciple to popularize Buddhism.

So from the origin of Jin Chanzi, and from the fact that Tang Monk and his disciples did not commit any major mistakes but were banished to the mortal world and experienced 81 trials just to seek the true scriptures, it can be seen that this was a selected elite who went to complete the important task of spreading Buddhism. In the end, Jin Chanzi obtained the true scriptures and was able to rebuild his golden body.

Jin Chanzi was a great demon in the prehistoric times. The Ming Dynasty mythological novel Journey to the West is one of the most influential and well-known traditional literature in my country, and is also well-known among the people.

The story of how Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Seng and others escorted Tang Monk to the West to seek the true scriptures is probably familiar to every Chinese. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and others were all well-known figures in the Three Realms back then. Although Tang Monk, who could make them "be humble and humble", is now a mortal, he was also a high-ranking official in the Buddhist world back then.

According to Journey to the West, Tang Seng's previous life, Jin Chanzi, was the eldest disciple of Sakyamuni. Later, due to a "storm", his true spirit was demoted to the mortal world and became Tang Xuanzang, the pilgrim who seeks Buddhist scriptures today. The Buddha has many disciples, so who is this Jin Chanzi and how could he be the eldest disciple?

This story begins with the Conferred Gods Tribulation hundreds of thousands of years ago. We all know that the Buddha's "Nine-Rank Lotus Platform" is one of the innate spiritual treasures of Buddhism and is very precious; but back then, the Nine-Rank Lotus Platform was originally the "Twelve-Rank Lotus Platform", which was even more magical than it is now.

The culprit who caused the twelve-grade lotus platform to lose three grades was a peerless demon king in the prehistoric period: Mosquito Taoist. According to legend, Mosquito Taoist was the first mosquito born in the early period of the creation of the world. In terms of seniority and lifespan, Mosquito Taoist was not even inferior to the leaders of Taoism, the "Three Pure Ones".

Later, he took advantage of the fierce battle of the Conferred Gods to devour the third of the twelve lotus pedestals and refined the Turtle Spirit Holy Mother, the second-generation disciple of Jiejiao. Although the angry Western Saint Zhunti and Jieyin took him down, Peibian did not know how to deal with Mosquito Taoist because of his long life and many connections.

So Zhunti and Jie Yin brought him back to Buddhism and reported to the Buddha Shakyamuni. Based on the principle that "there is no one who cannot be converted in Buddhism", Tathagata gave Taoist Mosquito an opportunity:

Tathagata said: "Holy monk, in your previous life, Peichai Que was my disciple, named Jin Chanzi. Because you did not listen to the teachings and despised my great teachings, I demoted your true spirit and reincarnated you in the East.

Jin Chanzi, also known as the Taoist Mosquito, is a Buddhist who believes in cause and effect. The Taoist Mosquito planted the cause of devouring the Ninth-Rank Lotus Platform, which resulted in the result of Jin Chanzi being eaten for the ninth time in his reincarnation. Later, the Taoist Mosquito made great contributions in his journey to the West and was named "Duo Φ Lu Zhen Bao Cai Qia Ba Ji Zhuan Bo".

As we all know, the protagonists in Journey to the West all have good backgrounds. The most famous name in Tang Monk's previous life is Jin Chanzi. What is Jin Chanzi's identity? Tathagata once said, "Saint monk, you were my second disciple in your previous life, named Jin Chanzi. Because you didn't listen to my teachings and despised my great teachings, I demoted your true spirit and reincarnated you into a

The Golden Cicada is a little golden cicada! This golden cicada witnessed the whole process of Tathagata's enlightenment and admired Tathagata so much that he became Tathagata's second disciple.

When Tathagata attained enlightenment, he sat under a bodhi tree. There happened to be a golden cicada on the bodhi tree. There was also a jade rabbit present at the time. It was saved by Tathagata. The jade rabbit first worshipped Tathagata as his master and became his eldest disciple, the eldest sister of the golden cicada. These two were the first disciples of Tathagata, but also the ones with the most impure six senses.

There is a passage in Journey to the West about Jin Chanzi's reincarnation as Tang Monk. Jin Chanzi practiced for ten lifetimes under Tathagata's rule but could not achieve enlightenment, so Tathagata gave him a chance to reincarnate as Tang Monk and take on the task of preaching the scriptures to the East. This was actually to arrange for Jin Chanzi to be gilded, so it is not difficult to understand why Tang Monk was so incompetent, afraid of death and so cowardly. This person was not a master, but just a person who came to get experience.

The reason why Jin Chanzi could not achieve enlightenment in ten lifetimes was that he fell in love with his elder sister Yutu. That’s right! She was the one he met in Tianzhu. She was Jin Chanzi’s first love. Jin Chanzi was thinking about his elder sister Yutu while reciting sutras. The two of them could not concentrate on their cultivation until their secret love was discovered by Tathagata. Then Tathagata expelled Yutu from the sect and exiled her to the Moon Hall (Yutu went to the moon earlier than Chang’e). From then on, the two never met again. So, when Yu Tu saw Tang Seng on the moon, she was so desperate to meet him. However, she said, “Do not disappoint Tathagata and do not disappoint your lover”!

In "Journey to the West", what is the origin of Jin Chanzi?

Jin Chanzi was also a famous top-level power in the Three Realms. He was born almost at the same time as Taishang Laojun, Yuanshi Tianzun and others. Later, he was accepted as a disciple by Buddha Tathagata, so he was renamed "Jin Chanzi".

We all know that the four people who traveled to the West to seek Buddhist scriptures in Journey to the West may seem ordinary, but in fact, each of them has a very important background, and none of them is easy to deal with. Sun Wukong was the famous Monkey King who openly opposed the Heavenly Court five hundred years ago and had extraordinary magical powers;

Zhu Bajie and Sha Seng were also Yuanshi Tianzun and the favorites of the Jade Emperor, Marshal Tianpeng and General Juanlian, so their status cannot be ignored. Tang Monk is even more remarkable: Jin Chanzi, the second disciple of Tathagata. As Subhuti, the eldest disciple of Tathagata, established his own school many years ago and founded Lingtai Fangcun Mountain, advocating the unity of the three religions;

Therefore, Jin Chan Lumaizi is actually Tathagata's eldest disciple. In those days, countless calamities ago, Jin Chanzi had a past that was unknown to the public: It is said that when the prehistoric world was just opened up, Taishang Laojun, Yuanshi Tianzun, Nuwa Niangniang and other innate gods and demons were born from the chaos;

At this time, the first mosquito in the world also cultivated and became a Taoist. Later, he was honored as "Mosquito Taoist", and was highly respected. He also had the strength of a quasi-saint. During the Conferred God War, the Mosquito Taoist took the opportunity to cause chaos and swallowed up the Buddhist magic weapon Twelve-Rank Lotus Platform, making this innate spiritual treasure a "ninth-rank" one.

Therefore, Zhunti and Jieyin were furious and took the Mosquito Taoist back to the West Heaven to judge his fate in front of Sakyamuni Tathagata. The Buddha, in line with the principle that "Buddhism is vast and there is no one who cannot be saved", gave the Mosquito Taoist an opportunity.

Holy monk, you were my second disciple in your previous life, named Jin Chanzi. Because you did not listen to the teachings and despised my great teachings, I demoted your true spirit and reincarnated you in the East.

That's right, Buddhism emphasizes cause and effect. The cause of the mosquito monk was that he swallowed the ninth-grade lotus platform, which resulted in the result that Tang Monk was eaten nine times in his journey to the West. Later, he completed his merits and was named Duo Lu Zhen by Tathagata.

In the story of Journey to the West, Jin Chanzi is a top-level powerful person with a great reputation in the Three Realms. He was born at almost the same time as Taishang Laojun, Yuanshi Tianzun and others. Later, he was accepted as a disciple by Buddha Rudaze, so he was renamed "Jin Chanzi".

Jin Chanzi was a disciple of the Buddha. He became a Buddha after hearing Tathagata preach. Later, because Jin Chanzi believed in Hinayana Buddhism, he was demoted to the mortal world.

In Journey to the West, Jin Chanzi was actually Tathagata's eldest disciple. Because Jin Chanzi made a mistake, Tathagata banished him to the mortal world and punished him by sending him to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures.
