Under natural conditions in a bee colony, when there are larvae in the queen cell cup, the worker bees will secrete royal jelly to feed the queen larvae. Therefore, as long as a plastic queen cup (queen cell) is made in the size of a natural queen cell, the worker bees can be induced to secrete royal jelly in the queen cup. Three days after the larvae are transferred, when the royal jelly in the cup reaches the highest amount (about 250mg~450mg), it can be harvested. First, use a tweezer to carefully clamp out the larvae, and then use a royal jelly pen to dig out the royal jelly in the cup. Machine harvesting can also be used to increase work efficiency. Generally, a colony can put 60-100 artificial queen cups at a time, which can produce about 50 grams of royal jelly at a time, and an average of 2.4-4 kilograms of royal jelly can be produced per year. |
