What should you do if you are stung by a bee?

(1) Don’t be nervous. Stay calm.

(2) If a poisonous stinger has penetrated the skin, remove the stinger first.

(3) Use soapy water, 3% ammonia water, 5-10% sodium bicarbonate water, saline solution, or sugar water to wash the wound.

(4) Apply fresh human milk to the wound several times a day.

Then it is best to suck out the venom. You can use various methods, such as cupping, syringes, vacuum cleaners, etc. Mouth suction has little suction power and is not very effective, and the venom may enter the mouth. However, this method generally does not have the right tools.

Pressing the skin next to the wound can also force the venom out of the body, but it is best to do this with flushing. Here you need to pay attention to the method. Do not press directly on the sting point, as that will force the venom into the body.

The final treatment can be to rinse with plenty of tap water to try to dilute and remove the venom.

The active ingredients of bee venom are generally acidic, so it can be destroyed by alkaline substances. For example, washing the skin with soapy water or low-concentration edible alkali water solution can reduce the effect of bee venom. Hospitals generally use ammonia water.
