CATDOLL: How can a novice raise silkworms and ancient rural insects?

1. How to breed the silkworms you just brought home?

Silkworm breeding methods and precautions:

1. Put the silkworm eggs in the box and wait for them to hatch. The most suitable temperature is 25℃-28℃. If the temperature is lower, you can cover it. The newly hatched silkworms should be taken care of with special care and fed with relatively tender leaves.

2. Keep the mulberry leaves fresh, feed them an appropriate amount each time, and keep the rest in the refrigerator. The mulberry leaves must be clean, otherwise the silkworms will get sick if they eat them; if the mulberry leaves turn black and moldy, do not feed them to the silkworms. Try to wash your hands when feeding mulberry leaves to the silkworms to prevent germs from infecting the silkworms.

3. Change the mulberry leaves gently. You can use a feather or a very soft brush to move them, and clean the box diligently.

4. If the silkworms become sick and die during the breeding process, they must be removed from the box as soon as possible and the box must be disinfected with boiling water to prevent infection.

2. What is the correct way to feed silkworms?

1.

Feeding method:

Silkworms of age 4-5 are in the adult stage, and the suitable growth temperature is 25 degrees. Silkworms have weak resistance to high temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide, eat a lot of mulberry leaves and produce a lot of excrement. They can be raised indoors on the ground or outdoors on sheds.

2.

After receiving the silkworm eggs, protect them in a suitable environment to allow the embryos to develop normally. The specific steps are:

In a disinfected silkworm room, lay the silkworm eggs flat on the silkworm plaque with the eggs facing upward. The room temperature should be 24℃ and the difference between dryness and wetness should be 2-2.5℃ on the 1st to 4th day. The room temperature should be 27℃ and the difference between dryness and wetness should be 1.5-2℃ on the 5th to 10th day. When the embryos develop to the later stage and a small number of silkworm eggs are found to be blue dots, immediately cover the silkworm eggs with black cloth. After about 40 hours, that is, 4-5 o'clock before dawn on the third day, remove the black cloth, wrap the silkworm eggs with white paper, with the eggs facing upward, turn on the light to let the ants bite through the egg shells and hatch.

3.

The main technical measures for raising silkworms are:

(1) Improve the environment and ensure ventilation to prevent stuffiness.

(2) Build a shed to provide shade and prevent hot air from entering the silkworm room.

3. A beginner’s guide to silkworm farming?

1. Breeding for beginners

When a novice raises silkworms, he needs to prepare a clean, odor-free ordinary paper box or wooden box, then put the purchased silkworm eggs into the paper box, and place the box in a greenhouse that can regulate the temperature. The indoor temperature should be controlled between 21-29 degrees to promote rapid hatching of the silkworm eggs.

2. Feed mulberry leaves

Silkworms grow very fast and have a high demand for mulberry leaves. When raising silkworms, you need to prepare fresh, pesticide-free green mulberry leaves. Use a sharp knife to cut the mulberry leaves into small pieces, and then spread them on the box. Allow the silkworms to eat freely, and feed them mulberry leaves every 3-4 hours to ensure that there is enough food.

3. Suitable environment

Silkworms live in a clean environment. When raising silkworms, if the environment is too dirty, the silkworms will be infected with diseases. The boxes need to be cleaned every 2-3 days. The feces and leftover mulberry leaves in the boxes can be cleaned out, and the windows should be opened from morning to afternoon every day to ventilate the silkworms.

4. Feeding methods

When raising silkworms, the indoor temperature needs to be controlled at around 25 degrees, which is the optimal growth temperature. Silkworms of different ages like to eat different types of mulberry leaves. Silkworms aged 1-3 like to eat tenderer mulberry leaves, while silkworms aged 4-5 can be fed older mulberry leaves, which is beneficial for mulberry to absorb cellulose to spin silk and make cocoons.
