CATDOLL: How to adopt wild bees (How to adopt wild bees)

1. How to catch wild bees and raise them?

1 Wild bees can be caught and raised. 2 You can use catching tools, such as beehives and traps, to lure the bees in. It should be noted that excessive disturbance should be avoided when catching to prevent bees from attacking, and protective equipment should be used. 3 When breeding, it is necessary to provide suitable space and environment to ensure that the bees have sufficient food sources and living conditions. At the same time, it is necessary to manage and care for the bees reasonably according to their habits and needs to ensure the health and production capacity of the bees.

2. How to capture bees in caves and take them home to raise?

The simplest method is to dig the cave slowly, cut the honeycombs, put the frames in, and then put them in the prepared beehive. Then find the queen bee, put the queen bee and some worker bees in the box, and cover the box. Cut off the remaining honeycombs, drive the worker bees out of the nest, and wait for the remaining bees to enter the beehive. Or you can directly sweep the bee mass into the beehive.

2. Cave Conquest Method

If you encounter a bee colony in a cave, and the entrance to the cave cannot be dug open for the time being, first find several entrances and keep only one. Prepare a glass tube or plastic tube with a diameter of 2 cm and a length of more than 10 cm. It must be transparent. Put a little gauze in the tube to prevent the bees from crawling out. Put one end into the hole, light a cigarette, and then put one end of the cigarette into the mouth and the other end into the tube. Blow smoke into the nest, about two will be enough. Block the tube mouth and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, then pull out the gauze in the tube and connect one end to the prepared beehive (the honeycomb must be prepared in advance in the box). The worker bees will slowly crawl into the box with the glass tube. At this time, you should pay attention to observe whether the queen bee has come out. When it is almost out, you can move the beehive. Then think of other ways to dig the hole, cut the honeycomb, and then adjust the situation in the box. This method does not need to worry about hurting the worker bees and queen bees when digging.

3. Tree Hole Expulsion Method

There are bee colonies that have made their homes in tree holes, and they are at high places. The commonly used methods of taming them are very difficult. You can make a bee trap with old gauze, and prepare transparent tubes and mothballs. Climb to the hole and find a suitable position. Throw the mothballs into the hole, and connect one end of the tube to the hole, and the other end to the bee trap. Be careful to tie it tightly, and don't let it go wrong at the critical moment. Then pat the tree trunk to cause vibrations in the nest, so that the bee colony feels a sense of crisis, and use the odor to force it out quickly. After the bees have all come out, you can tie the cage mouth and go back to the box to raise them.

3. How to attract wild bees from brick cracks back home to raise?

When we find them, we can go home and put some sugar in a small bowl. Then put this idea in a cardboard box and put it next to the cracks in the bricks. When the wild bees see it, the sugar in the box will gather in immediately.

4. How to adopt wild bees?

Prepare the beehive in advance. When you see wild bees, apply a little honey inside the beehive and place it above the swarm of bees. After ten minutes or so, all the bees will crawl into the beehive. Be careful to move gently. Otherwise, you will be poking a hornet's nest.

5. How to adopt wild bees in summer?

Before collecting bees, you need to prepare empty beehives and honeycombs. Spray some sugar water on the honeycombs, preferably honey, to help the bees get on the honeycombs. If the bee colonies are in the caves and difficult to get, you can use the following method to collect them. Choose a sunny day with high temperature, blow some cigarettes into the caves to fumigate, then spray some wine into the caves, or put some cooling oil. After 1 to 2 hours, the bees will start to get restless and slowly gather outside. If you can find the queen bee, directly catch the queen bee and put it in the queen cage in the beehive. It won't take long for the bees to fly into the box.

6. How to bring wild bees home to raise?

1. Choose a location. To attract wild bee colonies, you should choose a place with abundant nectar and pollen sources, near water sources, and facing the sun, and place beehives in a place with a suitable microclimate and obvious targets;

2. Grasp the timing. The success rate of trapping is high during the bee swarming season. April to May in the north and November to December in the south are suitable for trapping Chinese honey bees. In the southern subtropical areas, nectar sources are scarce from August to September, and wild bee colonies may migrate, which is also suitable for trapping;

3. Prepare the beehive. Soak the new beehive in rice water to remove the smell of wood, dry it, and apply beeswax on the inner wall. Put 3 to 5 nest frames with wire and narrow strips in the box, add partitions on both sides, and fill the gaps in the box with hay. The nest door is 8 mm wide. Put rocks or tree trunks and use stones to pad the beehive off the ground. Old beehive barrels with wax base have the smell of beeswax and are suitable for luring wild bee colonies;

4. Check frequently. During the swarming season, check once every three days. Check promptly when the weather clears up after a long period of rain. If you find that wild bees have moved in, wait until the bees return to the nest in the evening, close the nest door and move back to keep.

7. How to raise wild bees?

To find wild Chinese bees, you must understand their living habits and master their living rules. Generally, wild Chinese bees build nests in places with good nectar and pollen sources, and there are mostly clean water sources nearby for bees to collect. To find wild Chinese bees, you should go to places with rich nectar and pollen sources, many flowers, and long flowering periods. If you find bees collecting water next to a water source, it means that the hive is nearby. You can track and find it in the direction of the water-collecting bees flying back. Chinese bees have many enemies, and their hives are mostly in places that are more hidden and not easily discovered by enemies. Usually, the location of the hive is sunny, dry, warm in winter and cool in summer, and can avoid the sun, wind and rain. Although the nest door is not easy to find, it is convenient for bees to enter and exit. Such as tree holes, rock caves, empty gaps in buildings, ancient tombs, etc. If you find bee feces on rocks, leaves or grass, it means that the hive is nearby. The denser the feces, the closer it is to the hive. The shape of the feces is large at one end and small at the other end, and the large end points to the direction of the nest door. In addition, when looking for wild Chinese honey bees, you can take advantage of the favorable opportunities of natural swarming and swarm flight. When the climate is mild and the external nectar and pollen sources are sufficient, bee colonies often undergo natural swarming. The swarms that fly out of the nests will hover in the air and gather in groups at certain locations, making them easy to be discovered. In some areas and certain seasons, bee colonies will flee due to lack of nectar and pollen sources or due to attacks by nest insects and enemies. Fleeing bee colonies are often easy to be discovered because the bees fly in groups.
