CATDOLL: What is the best way to feed scorpions?

1. What is the best food for scorpions?

At present, scorpions mainly rely on artificial breeding of yellow mealworms, black mealworms, foreign worms, woodlice, dragonflies and earthworms as feed.

Hybrid scorpion reproduction Scorpions reproduce sexually through the combination of sperm and eggs. Under natural conditions, the fertilized eggs can develop and hatch into young scorpions in the female scorpion's body within a few days. If artificial breeding conditions are met, the incubation period will be shortened and the number of offspring will increase. After mating once, the female scorpion can produce offspring for several consecutive years.

The non-dormant breeding technology of hybrid scorpions is to carry out short-term heating breeding based on natural temperature, breaking the hibernation pattern of scorpions and creating a non-dormant state, which can enable them to grow and reproduce all year round and shorten the growth period (breeding period) and breeding period. Scorpion artificial breeding technology.

2. How to improve the nutrition of scorpions when breeding them?

The main feed is earthworms, which scorpions like to eat. When feeding, they should be scalded to death with boiling water and cut into pieces before feeding. Scorpions are carnivorous animals and like to eat soft and juicy insects. They can be fed with a variety of small insects, such as ground turtles, crickets, grasshoppers, house flies, and mealworms.

Scorpions often eat humans; meat feed, pork, chicken, frog meat, sparrow meat. These nutritious feeds are suitable for pregnant scorpions. There are also mixed feeds, bran, flour, sugar, and other processed feeds.

3. How are scorpions generally fed?

How to raise scorpions is a big topic. There are many ways to raise scorpions. Pot breeding, tile breeding, etc.

1. Temperature and humidity are the key to success or failure

Scorpions generally move between 1°C and 38°C, and are dormant below 10°C. The best breeding temperature is 25-30°C, but the temperature for giving birth is 35°C. If this temperature is not reached, the scorpion will not give birth. Below -5°C, there is a risk of death, and above 38°C, the temperature is too high and death will occur. Therefore, the temperature should be controlled according to the needs of the scorpion, not too high or too low. At the same time, the humidity should be controlled between 50-75%;

2. Feed is the basis for scorpion growth

Scorpions mainly feed on carnivorous animals, such as spiders, earthworms, crickets, etc. Scorpions have a small appetite and can eat for three days. If the amount of food is too large, the food will rot, causing air pollution in the scorpion room and causing the death of the scorpion. In recent years, many farms have used mealworms to feed scorpions, which has achieved good results. In addition, sponges or corn cobs and other water-absorbent items should be placed in the scorpion room for the scorpion to drink water;

3. Reproduction and breeding should be timely

Scorpions are ovoviviparous and reproduce in July and August. A female scorpion can produce 8-40 scorpions. Two minutes after laying eggs, the eggshells burst in the wind and the baby scorpions crawl out. The big scorpion uses its tail to hold the baby scorpion on its back, with its head facing inward, forming a circle. Scorpions of the same type should be raised separately in time to prevent some mother scorpions from shaking their backs due to shock after giving birth and eating their baby scorpions after giving birth. After the baby scorpions crawl off the back of the mother on days 8-11, they should be separated from the big and mother scorpions and raised in separate containers. Put some very small mealworms or some meat sauce mixed with malted milk and glucose to ensure the survival rate of the baby scorpions. After giving birth, the pregnant scorpion consumes too much energy, so it should be separated from the group of scorpions to create good drinking and feeding conditions;

4. Take measures to prevent escape

Whether you raise scorpions in pots, pools, or boxes, you must work hard to prevent them from escaping. At present, glass pools and pots are the safest choice. For pools, you can put glass strips on the cement pool to prevent them from escaping, and for boxes, you can just stick transparent tape around them. In addition, you cannot put pesticides, sanitary balls, chamomile essence, or other highly irritating items within 20 meters of the scorpion room. There cannot be strong vibrations or loud noises. The scorpion room must be kept quiet and clean.
