How do you mix fresh water to sea water? What is the ratio?

Fresh water can be made into sea water. Add special salt for making sea water into fresh water. Use a hydrometer to test the parameters. When the specific gravity reaches that of sea water, it is made. There are different specifications of salt for making sea water according to different usage needs. Since there are many harmful substances such as disinfectants and metal elements in tap water, it needs to be simmered for 15 to 20 days. During this period, nitrifying bacteria should be added to cultivate the bacterial flora and digest the harmful substances so that the sea water can meet the specified indicators as much as possible.

There are many chemical components in natural seawater, mainly sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium sulfate, iron, lithium, iodine, aluminum, bromine, strontium and dozens of other chemical components. By mixing these chemical substances in a certain proportion, they can be made into artificial seawater salt that is easy to use. When using it, as long as the artificial seawater salt is mixed with water in a certain proportion, it can be made into artificial seawater that is closer to natural seawater. At present, the artificial seawater salt produced in China, in which sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate and potassium chloride are mixed in a ratio of 3:2:1, accounts for 90% of the artificial seawater salt composition, and the other 10% is composed of 20 trace elements, while the artificial seawater salt produced abroad is composed of 40 trace elements.

Method of making fresh water into sea water:

1. It is best to test the water quality before mixing for the first time. Before mixing fresh water with artificial seawater, use a water quality tester to test the pH value and salinity.

2. Mixing method: To mix artificial seawater, you can directly add sea crystal (some people also call it seawater element) to fresh water. When applying, it is best to dilute the sea crystal in a small bucket, stir it evenly, and then sprinkle it into the water. After pouring it into the water, stir it to make it dissolve evenly.

3. Mixing ratio: The mixing ratio is usually indicated on the packaging bag.

4. Use of salinity meter: You can use a salinity meter to measure. When measuring, you should select several nodes such as the water surface and the bottom of the water to see if the values are consistent or similar. If the difference is more than 2 degrees, it means that the sea crystal is not dissolved evenly and needs to be dissolved further.

5. Residual chlorine removal: Generally, there is residual chlorine in sea crystals, so the prepared artificial seawater should not be used immediately, but should be aerated for several hours to allow the chlorine to escape from the water surface. If it is used urgently, add 3-7 grams/ton of water of sodium thiosulfate (baking soda).

6. PH value adjustment: In addition, it is necessary to measure whether the PH value of the water is normal. The PH value of seawater is 7.5-8.5, and the PH value of fresh water is 6.5-8.5. If it exceeds this range, it should be adjusted. See the manual for the method of adjusting the PH value.

7. Identification of inferior sea crystal: Some inferior sea crystals are harmful to people and cannot keep aquatic products. Therefore, before using a sea crystal, you should first test it, that is, test it with 100 liters of artificial sea water to see if the aquatic products are normal. Only use it in large quantities after it is correct, to be on the safe side.
