Types of tropical fish:

1. Floridaceae: Floridaceae fish have strong adaptability and can live and reproduce in neutral or weakly alkaline water. They have a wide range of diets and can eat all kinds of natural baits, artificial feeds and dry feeds. All fish in this family reproduce by giving birth to live young, and the female fish lays fry instead of eggs. This type of fish is the easiest to raise and breed among tropical fish.

2. Percisidae: Fishes in this family have auxiliary respiratory organs, gills. When there is a lack of oxygen in the water, they can swim to the surface and swallow oxygen in the air with their gills. Therefore, they generally do not die of suffocation due to lack of oxygen in the water. They are not demanding on water quality. During the breeding period, the parent fishes are covered with nuptial colors, which are not usually seen, especially in male fishes. Most of the fishes in this family are oviparous and fertilized outside the body. Male fishes have the characteristics of spitting bubbles to build nests and protect their young. Fertilized eggs and fry are very small, and micro live bait is needed for their opening.

3. Characidae: Characidae is the family with the most species in tropical fish. The fish in this family have a small adipose fin on the caudal peduncle. Most species are small, beautiful, and docile. Only a few are carnivorous and ferocious. All are oviparous fish. The eggs are sticky, and the fertilized eggs need to attach to water plants and other attachments to hatch.

This family of fish lays sticky eggs, which need attachments (fish nests) such as water plants to attach the eggs.
