When do lobsters lay eggs? How to raise lobsters to lay eggs? How to raise lobster eggs?1. Pay attention to pond conditions The pond for breeding crayfish should not be too deep, generally not more than 1.5 meters, and the bank should have a certain slope, which is conducive to creating a water environment with a combination of depth and shallowness and different water temperatures. At the same time, it can make full use of light energy, increase water temperature, and promote the growth of crayfish. Crayfish have strong burrowing and escape abilities. The bank should be compacted and rammed firmly, without caves, and the width should be more than 1.5 meters. Asbestos tiles should be used around to form anti-escape facilities, especially the inlet and outlet should use double-layer filter screens to prevent damage and cause the escape of farmed shrimp. New ponds should also be covered with a layer of 60 to 80 mesh polyolefin mesh around the slope or in the middle of the bank. 2. Pay attention to planting aquatic plants Many ponds for breeding crayfish are converted from fishing ponds and do not have any aquatic plants. In fact, crayfish, like shrimps and river crabs, also need aquatic plants. One of the reasons why some farmers fail in breeding is that they do not plant aquatic plants. Aquatic plants can provide a hidden place for crayfish to live and shed their shells, purify water quality, increase dissolved oxygen, and provide fresh natural plant bait for crayfish. The biggest benefit is that it reduces the cannibalism of crayfish. The main aquatic plant species are Hydrilla verticillata, Elodea, Vallisneria, and Peanut, which account for 20% to 30% of the breeding area. 3. Pay attention to feeding Crayfish are omnivorous and like to eat animal bait. They are greedy and have a large appetite. Insufficient bait will easily lead to cannibalism. At present, the price of chicken, duck, pig and other livestock and poultry offal is cheap, and some farmers sell livestock and poultry offal. How to deal with lobster eggs? After the lobster lays eggs, they will adhere to the bristles on the abdominal foot. During this period, pay attention to the changes in water temperature. If the water temperature is high, the hatching time will be shorter, and vice versa. The newly hatched larvae are nourished by their own yolk, and then they are fed with small zooplankton such as rotifers. As they grow larger, they are fed with large zooplankton, benthic animals and plant debris. In addition, it is important to change the water in a timely manner to keep the water clean. When do lobsters spawn?Lobsters spawn in the summer. When the water temperature rises above 20℃, the broodstock begin to lay eggs. The spawning season can last for 6 months in the eastern Guangdong region, and 3 to 4 times a year. The amount of eggs laid varies with the size of the individual and the degree of gonadal development. Generally, 300 to 1,000 eggs are laid each time. Larger female shrimps carry more eggs. The mating season of lobsters is generally from late April to July, and the peak period of group mating is in May. During mating, the female shrimp lies on its back on the bottom of the water, and the male shrimp is on top of it, clamping the female shrimp's front claws with its chelicerae, holding the female shrimp with its walking legs, and inserting the copulator into the female body. The mating time is 10 to 30 minutes. The earliest time we observed shrimps carrying eggs in our experiments and in the market was on May 28 and June 4. After August, female shrimps began to carry eggs in large numbers, and juvenile shrimps hatched after September. After hatching, all juvenile shrimps attached to the swimming legs on the mother's abdomen and completed the growth and development process of the larval stage under the protection of the mother. After the lobster larvae are hatched in the early autumn of the first year, they grow, develop and overwinter in the mother's abdomen, and leave the mother's body in the spring of the second year. This way of breeding ensures a high survival rate of the offspring. |
