CATDOLL: Why are there so many little frogs on the streets? Is it related to the earthquake?

1. Why are there so many little frogs on the streets? Is it related to the earthquake?

This phenomenon can also occur after a flood. If all the frogs are small, it should not be related to earthquakes. However, if a large number of adult frogs or toads migrate, the probability of an earthquake is very high.

So it may not be related to earthquakes. Just like the earthworms on the ground after rain, it should be a weather problem. I suggest you check the recent weather conditions. But you still need to be prepared!

Animals have more sensitive senses than humans. When animals move in large numbers, something will happen, but it is not necessarily a disaster. We need to be on guard!

2. How do frogs react before an earthquake?

Before an earthquake, frogs will float on the water, tumble, jump, spin, become unconscious, and suddenly change their activity patterns. They will leave their holes and migrate in groups during the day. Before the Ya'an earthquake in Sichuan, a large number of frogs appeared on the roadside. The main reason for animals' abnormal behavior is that some organs are particularly sensitive. The physical and chemical changes caused by earthquakes (vibration, electricity, magnetism, meteorology, abnormal radon content in water, etc.) can often stimulate some sensory organs of some animals and cause abnormal reactions.

If the gravity in a region changes, some animals may be able to sense an abnormal vibration through their balance organs, and some animals may be able to detect it through their hearing organs. Before the earthquake, the underground rock layers have been slowly moving day by day, showing a creeping state, and there is strong friction between the fault planes. Therefore, some people believe that a low-frequency sound wave that is only a few to more than ten times per second and lower than the human hearing can produce on the friction fault plane. People can only feel sound waves above 20 times per second, but animals cannot. Those animals with very sensitive senses will be terrified and manic when they feel this kind of sound wave.
