CATDOLL: Which ornamental shrimps are easy to raise?

1. Fire Shrimp. Fire Shrimp is definitely one of the best ornamental shrimps to raise. It is a product of cherry shrimp that has been further purified to make it more red. Therefore, compared with ordinary cherry shrimp, its color is redder and more intense like fire. It is a finishing touch to the green water plants in the grass tank. It is small in size and has no aggressive and destructive extra feet. It can also remove food residues and has a certain cleaning effect on algae attached to water plants. It has strong adaptability and is very easy to raise.

2. Sakura shrimp. The first thing that comes to mind for many people is the Sakura shrimp. The male shrimp is transparent with a hint of blue, while the female shrimp is bright red. Because of its small size, the Sakura shrimp does not have aggressive and destructive claws, and its diet is mixed. Therefore, it will not harm other organisms if it is kept in a grass tank. It can also remove food residues and do a detailed cleaning of algae attached to water plants. It is one of the most popular species for beginners in shrimp farming.

3. Yamato algae shrimp. Yamato algae shrimp is also a good variety of ornamental shrimp. It is native to Japan and can be called pearl shrimp because of the spots on its body. Among many ornamental shrimps, Yamato algae shrimp is not too eye-catching. It is an entry-level shrimp. It is very easy to raise. It is common in the market and the price is low. Like cherry shrimp, it is the first choice for beginners to raise shrimp. But be careful, it has a strong appetite and eats non-stop throughout the day. When there is not enough food, it is easy to cause disease and death due to malnutrition.

4. Green crystal shrimp. Green crystal shrimp is also a good choice. It is green all over and very beautiful. Sometimes brown individuals can be found. Female shrimps are larger than male shrimps, with a wide and round abdomen and a special green color. They are unique among ornamental shrimps and are quite entertaining. They lay medium-sized eggs, are easier to raise and reproduce, have a wide range of adaptability, and are one of the few ornamental shrimps that can withstand high temperatures. They will not die within 35 degrees, making them very suitable for beginners to practice.

5. White shrimp. White shrimp is also very common in the list of easy-to-raise ornamental shrimps. It is named for its thin and transparent shell, white color, slightly blue-brown or red spots, and white body after death. Because of its crystal clear body, it is deeply loved by aquarium enthusiasts. It has a gentle temperament and can be mixed with various small fish, but not with large fish such as blood parrots and dragon fish, otherwise it will be eaten. It can eat the unsightly algae in the aquarium. It is an unsophisticated cleaner and also eats leftover bait, shrimp food, cooked vegetable leaves, bloodworms, earthworms and other foods.

6. White crayfish. Which species of ornamental shrimp is easy to raise? The "three little strong crayfish" have to be mentioned, among which the white crayfish is also very famous, also called white jade and snow crayfish, but it is not common in the market. The white crayfish belongs to the Procambarus clarkii, and its origin is Louisiana, USA. It is an artificially improved species of the "spicy crayfish" we eat. It has stronger vitality than ordinary ornamental fish, and its requirements for the environment are not strict. It adapts to low oxygen or poor water quality, and can survive in a waterless environment for 15-20 hours. The white crayfish is also omnivorous, and fish worms, bloodworms, small fish and shrimps, fish feed, vegetables and water plants can all be its food.

7. Black-shelled shrimp. Black-shelled shrimp is one of the easiest ornamental shrimps to raise. It is a very gentle shrimp and will not attack any fish in the fish tank. It does not need to be specially fed. It does not require high temperature (but try to avoid high temperature). It also has a very important effect on suppressing the proliferation of algae in the fish tank, so black-shelled shrimp can be said to be a very good fish tank cleaner. And be careful not to mix black-shelled shrimp with overly ferocious fish such as betta, loach, goby, etc. In this case, even if there are many black-shelled shrimps hiding, they will be eaten up.

8. Florida Blue Claw. Florida Blue Claw, also known as Florida Blue Claw, is a well-known and easy-to-raise ornamental shrimp. They are highly adaptable and do not require a very high breeding environment. However, it should be noted that the common feature of crayfish is that the oxygen content in the water must be high, otherwise the crayfish will fail to molt and die during molting. Also, it should be noted that only one crayfish should be raised in one space, because they have a strong sense of territory. When the individual crayfish reaches a certain size, their huge claws have a strong biting ability. Once two crayfish confront each other, the result will be tragic.

9. Glass shrimp. It depends on which species you raise. Glass shrimp is a good choice among various ornamental shrimps. It is a new species bred by Taiwanese breeders after strict selection. It can be fed with general shrimp feed, algae, bottom feed of corydoras, etc. The basic breeding is similar to cherry shrimp and fire shrimp. Glass shrimp can be said to be a shrimp species with bright performance and easy to raise. However, please note that the temperature must be maintained at around 23-28 degrees Celsius. Too high or too low temperature may cause death and other adverse phenomena.

10. Snowball shrimp. Snowball shrimp is also a good pet shrimp variety. It is very easy to raise and is not picky about food. It accepts almost all the food that shrimp and fish eat. Cooked spinach, pumpkin, seaweed flakes, shrimp balls, fish flakes, bloodworms, etc. are its favorites. Moreover, it is not strict about water quality. As long as the water quality is harmless, it can grow and reproduce. It can adapt to a wide range of temperatures, and the temperature requirement is between 15-30℃.
