CATDOLL: What are the conditions for spawning ponds for breeding frogs?

Spawning pond conditions:

The spawning pond should be built in a quiet environment, with good water quality and convenient drainage and irrigation.

The best water source for the spawning pond is unpolluted river water, mountain spring water and groundwater. It is best to use unpolluted river water. If you use mountain spring water or well water, you must increase the water temperature before putting it into the spawning pond.

The spawning pond can be an earthen pond or a cement pond, preferably a land pond, with an area of 50-200m2, a depth of 0.8-1.0m, a water depth of about 0.5m, a slope ratio of 1:2, and an uneven bottom with some depths and some shallows.

A water inlet is set at one end of the pool and a drain is set at the other end. The bottom of the pool at the water inlet and the bottom of the pool at the drain should have a certain slope.

The spawning pond must have a certain area of land, which can account for 1/3 to 1/2 of the water area. The land can be built around the pond, or a small island can be left in the middle of the pond. The land is where the frogs live and where the feeding tray is fixed. A wall should be built around the spawning pond to prevent the frogs from escaping and to prevent certain enemies from invading. The wall can be made of bricks or polyethylene mesh, with a height of about 10 meters. In summer, a shade shed can be set up on the south bank of the pond, with an area of 1/3 of the water surface.
