In fact, as long as you do the following 3 points, you can raise goldfish well. First, a professional fish tank. Second, feed a little fish food every other day. Third, change the water frequently. So it is not difficult for ordinary people to raise goldfish. As long as you are willing to spend a little money and a little effort, raising goldfish is actually very simple. We need to buy a professional fish tank, which generally has a filtration system and an oxygen system. The so-called filtration system is actually to filter the water in the fish tank repeatedly to maintain the water quality. As for the oxygen system, it is actually because the water in the fish tank is dead, inactive, and has no oxygen. We need to add oxygen to it so that the goldfish can survive. We should feed goldfish enough food for half a year or a year. Although goldfish don't eat much, we can't wait until they are hungry to buy a lot of goldfish food. Then feed a little goldfish food every other day. It is worth noting that goldfish can't be fed too much fish food. Because goldfish generally have no sense of fullness, as long as you put goldfish food into the water, it will definitely eat it all. Many goldfish die of gluttony. The ancestor of goldfish is wild live fish, that is, wild crucian carp. According to records, goldfish has become an ornamental fish as early as the Song Dynasty. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the red and yellow golden crucian carp was the original name of goldfish. Later, after a long period of artificial directional cultivation, selection and hybridization, the number of goldfish species has reached more than 300. China is the hometown of goldfish. Goldfish first spread from China to Japan, and then spread to Europe, the United States and the world. In the pet market, goldfish is the easiest ornamental fish to buy. This article will share experiences with the majority of goldfish breeding enthusiasts on feeding management, water quality control, feed management and disease prevention. Figure 1 Tap water is commonly used for goldfish breeding 1. How to choose water source and ensure water quality Generally, fish lovers in cities use tap water or deep well water, while those in rural areas mostly use river water, lake water, well water, etc. Some also use spring water, snow water, etc. These water sources can be summarized as surface water, groundwater, and tap water that has been disinfected and processed. Rainwater cannot be used as a water source for goldfish breeding because it contains more impurities, low oxygen content in the water, and atmospheric pollution makes rainwater acidic. Small urban rivers, sewer water, and gutter water are absolutely prohibited as water sources for goldfish breeding because they have many harmful factors. Tap water is a common water source for fish lovers. Most tap water in cities is made from surface water after sedimentation and disinfection. Because surface water has a large contact surface with the air, a large amount of dissolved oxygen in the water, few impurities after sedimentation, few pathogens after disinfection, and abundant water sources, it is generally considered to be ideal water for goldfish breeding. However, because bleaching powder is used for disinfection when tap water leaves the water plant, different amounts of chlorine often remain in the water, and this chlorine is toxic to the body surface and gill tissue of goldfish, often causing goldfish to die of poisoning. Therefore, it must be treated accordingly before use before it can be used as water for goldfish breeding. Generally, it is exposed to strong sunlight for more than twelve hours or stored without light for two days, and the chlorine can be used as water for fish breeding after it evaporates naturally. If tap water is urgently needed for water change, sodium thiosulfate can be used to neutralize the chlorine in the tap water. Generally, one gram of sodium thiosulfate is added to each cubic meter of water to neutralize the chlorine in the water before it can be used. However, the water we use to feed goldfish is usually exposed to the sun, or filtered for more than ten hours using special filtering equipment. Only when water is urgently needed do we use sodium thiosulfate to neutralize it. This method should be used as little as possible, because in the hot summer season, if the amount used is not controlled well, it will cause the water to become turbid and unusable. Figure 2 The breeding environment of goldfish is much more casual than that of marine fish. 2. How to choose fish feed Goldfish is an omnivorous fish. It can adapt to animal and plant feeds in the natural environment, and can also eat artificial feeds. There are many types of feed for goldfish. It should be noted that spoiled fish feed must not be fed, otherwise it will directly affect the healthy growth of goldfish and the quality of water, and may even cause hypoxia, illness and death of goldfish. Therefore, we must pay great attention to the quality of feed in the usual breeding process. It is best to store fish feed 20 cm from the ground, because if the fish feed is too close to the ground, it may become moldy and deteriorate due to the damp ground. When feeding fish feed, the amount should also be controlled. Feed appropriately according to the size and appetite of the goldfish. Similarly, the variety of fish feed should be selected according to the palatability of the goldfish and the flow rate of the water quality filtration system. Now generally use granular feed. The advantage of granular feed is that goldfish can eat anything floating on the water surface, so there will be no waste. It is also convenient to clean out the excess feed and keep the water clean. Figure 3 Black Mary 3. How to prevent diseases Common diseases of goldfish include the following: (1) White spot disease: This disease is a common disease of domestic pet fish. The main symptom is that many small white spots can be seen on the body surface, fins and gills of the diseased fish. The pathogen is Ichthyophthirius multifida, so it is also called Ichthyophthirius disease. When fish are densely parasitized by a large number of Ichthyophthirius, white dot-like vesicles are formed, and in severe cases, they are all over the body. In the later stage, the body surface is covered with a layer of white film, the mucus increases, and the body color is dull. The sick fish are emaciated, floating on the water surface or clustering in a corner, and rarely move. Ichthyophthirius disease has obvious seasonality. The water temperature of 15-20℃ is most suitable for the reproduction of Ichthyophthirius. The method of raising the water temperature to 30 degrees can be used to take advantage of the fact that Ichthyophthirius is not resistant to high temperatures. The spores produced on the surface of the fish body are accelerated to mature quickly, their growth rate is accelerated, and they fall off the surface of the fish body. Then, mercurous nitrate, malachite green, formalin, etc. can be used for treatment. Figure 4 Goldfish with white spot disease (2) Saprolegniasis: The cause of this disease is that Saprolegnias invade the fish through wounds, begin to parasitize the epidermis, gradually penetrate into the muscles, absorb nutrients from the fish, multiply in large numbers, and produce gray or bluish-white hyphae (cotton-like hyphae visible to the naked eye). The wounds at the parasitic site become inflamed, congested, necrotic, and ulcerated; sick fish often use the tank wall, gravel, or aquatic plants to rub the affected area, and finally die of exhaustion. This disease can occur all year round, and is most prevalent in early spring and late autumn. Young fish that are bruised or frostbitten are susceptible to the disease; unfertilized fish eggs and those with poor embryonic vitality are also susceptible to parasitism. Keeping the water clean, the water temperature appropriate, and the fish healthy and free of trauma are the keys to prevention. You can choose to soak the sick fish in salt water or potassium permanganate, furazolidone, or malachite green solution or apply it topically for treatment. (3) White cloud disease: The main cause of this disease is the great change in water temperature, which causes the parasites such as filariasis, oblique tube worms, and wheel worms to parasitize the fish body, stimulating the goldfish to secrete a large amount of mucus, causing white turbid spots to appear in the parasitic parts, resembling white clouds. If it parasitizes the fish gills, it will cause breathing difficulties. When treating, fill 500 ml of water in the fish tank, pour one ml of formalin, and put the sick fish into the medicine bath for 30 seconds each time, once every seven days, which can effectively cure it. Figure 5 Typical symptoms of white cloud disease Dechlorinate tap water by exposing it to sunlight for a day, or by using baking soda. I will tell you the key to raising goldfish at home: This is a summary of my experience in raising goldfish for more than 10 years, not a long article downloaded from the Internet. It may be helpful for you to raise goldfish in the future. 1. Feeding: Feed them with nutritious animal feed and white sesame. Animal feed includes water fleas, earthworms, mealworms, caterpillars, and skinworms. The main feed is earthworms and white sesame. Both red and black earthworms can be fed. You can feed them with raw white sesame. White sesame is easy to buy. Goldfish love to eat it, it is easy to digest, and it is not easy to pollute the water. Do not feed them with inferior goldfish feed. Because this kind of feed has too much starch, poor nutrition, difficult to digest, and easy to pollute the water. Goldfish will be malnourished after eating it, and the growth of goldfish will be slow, and they are also prone to disease. As long as goldfish eat easily digestible food, they will not die of bloating. When to feed? Generally, feed once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Do not feed too much, feed until the fish have eaten all the food. Otherwise, it will pollute the water quality. 2. Light: It is best to place the fish tank in a sunny place. The fish can be exposed to sunlight for 1-2 hours. In this way, the ultraviolet rays of the sun are used to sterilize. It plays a role in disease prevention. This can reduce diseases. Try to prevent fish diseases as the main method and use medicine as the auxiliary method. At the same time, due to photosynthesis, the color of the fish body is also brighter and more beautiful. 3. Change the water: Change the water frequently to increase the dissolved oxygen in the water. When changing the water, only one-third to one-quarter should be changed. Do not change a lot at once, or the fish will not adapt. It is very important to keep the water in the aquarium clear. Fish can only grow fast if there is enough dissolved oxygen in the water. Otherwise, they will stop growing or even die. There is no definite answer as to when to change the water. It depends on the water quality. If the water is turbid, change it more often; otherwise, change it less often. 4. Stocking density: For example, in a container that is 40 cm long, 25 cm wide, and 30 cm high, you can keep 6 small goldfish that are 5 to 7 cm long. ~8. For example, a round glass tank with a diameter of 26 cm and a height of 13 cm can raise 4 to 6 small goldfish of 4 to 6 cm. Adult fish with a body length of more than 8 cm should not be raised in small glass tanks, but should be raised in large glass tanks or ceramic tanks, and equipped with a small oxygenator to prevent hypoxia. These stocking densities are only reference numbers. They should also be determined by the water temperature, the strength of the fish and the quality of the water. They cannot be mechanically determined. Generally speaking, the larger the fish, the fewer the number of fish to be raised; raise more in winter and less in summer; raise more when the water temperature is low and less when the water temperature is high. If you master the above points when raising goldfish at home, you will definitely be able to keep the goldfish healthy and lively, with bright colors, swimming in the water, being loved by people, and making you never tired of watching them and having endless fun. You will definitely be able to raise them well. I wish you success. Take a look at it! How to raise goldfish Water Skills 1. First clean the transparent fish tank (other containers are also OK, but make sure they are transparent) 2. Use soda water. If you don't have soda water, you can use cold boiled water instead. But remember not to use tap water, because tap water contains disinfected chlorine, which the goldfish can't handle. 3. Add as much water as possible to ensure good oxygen content and sufficient freedom for the fish. It is best to buy a small air pump specifically for fish farming. Breeding tips 1. If there is no condition to maintain the water temperature in the fish tank, you should always give the goldfish enough sunlight in this cold winter. 2. Put some white rice stones and some water plants in the fish tank, but remember that the water plants must be appropriate. 3. For feeding, you can feed some fish worms or white flour buns, but feed less and more frequently each time. Also, please note that goldfish are particularly susceptible to white spot disease (a parasitic disease). If you find such things on the fish or scales fall off and there are wounds, remember to buy a kind of "yellow powder" (mainly for anti-inflammatory) at the flower and bird market, and drop some methylene blue medicine (mainly for parasite removal) when changing the water for the fish. With your careful care, the goldfish will definitely bring you equal happiness. Feeding method First, prepare the fish tank and let the water dry in advance. If you want to lay sand and plant grass, you need to add water slowly after everything is ready. It takes about one or two days to let the water dry. Then put the plastic bag containing the goldfish and the "old water" into the aquarium and suspend it in the middle and upper layers of the water. After about half an hour, it is estimated that the water temperature in the plastic bag is close to that in the aquarium. At the same time, add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water to sterilize it. If you need to increase the stocking amount, you should first place the new fish in another container and raise them alone for 7-10 days. After observing that the fish are indeed disease-free, you can then raise them together with the fish in the original aquarium to avoid introducing pathogens. 3. Feeding method Goldfish are usually fed with artificial and natural baits. Feeding must be done at a strict time and quantity to keep the water fresh. Generally speaking, feeding should be done 1-2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. In addition, the time, frequency and quantity of baiting should also be determined according to the following principles: (1) When the weather is clear, the sun is warm and the wind is gentle, there is sufficient dissolved oxygen in the water, and the water temperature is suitable, You can add more bait appropriately. (2) When the water is clear and the fish have a strong appetite, you can add more bait. (3) If the fish is sick or the species is delicate and precious, you should use less coarse bait. Switch to some fine bait. To tell whether the goldfish is hungry or full and how well it is digesting and absorbing food, you can tell by the color of its excrement. If the excrement is green, brown or black, it means the fish is eating properly and absorbing food well. If the excrement is white, it means the fish is overfed. 1. To raise goldfish indoors, you must first solve the lighting problem: Because the beauty of goldfish lies not only in its shape but also in its color. To ensure the bright color, the fish body must be exposed to strong light, otherwise, the fish body color will become increasingly dim and it is easy to get sick. Therefore, the place where goldfish are fed should have sufficient light, preferably ultraviolet light. If the temperature is suitable, you can place the fish tank on a balcony or in front of a window during the day to ensure sufficient light. Therefore, if you master the temperature suitable for the growth of goldfish and ensure sufficient light, raising goldfish indoors will have a great guarantee. 2. Master the time and method of feeding: Make sure that the fish are fed within 1-2 hours every day. Do not feed too much. Feeding time: Feed the fish around 7 am in spring and summer, when the sun starts to shine on the fish tank. Feed the fish around 8 am in late autumn and winter. Feed the fish at 9-10 am in severe cold. Remember, do not feed a large amount of food in the evening. Even if the goldfish is obviously looking for food, you can only feed a small amount around 3 pm. In addition, the fish species such as bubble eyes and Chaotianlong have poor foraging activity. Try to take care of them and feed them some live fish worms. 3. Pay attention to the amount of fish you eat: For fish with high activity and strong vitality, you can feed more food. Otherwise, you should feed less. You can use trial feeding to determine. Feed less for the first time. If the goldfish finishes eating within half an hour and is still looking for food, it means that the feeding is too little. You can increase the amount of food on the second day. If the goldfish finishes eating within 1-2 hours and does not look for food or "float", it means that the feeding is just right. If the goldfish cannot finish eating within 3 hours and "floats", it means that the feeding is too much. Note that the appetite of goldfish is a little hungry, and fresh food is good for the health of goldfish. If you really want to raise goldfish and keep them alive, please don't use a "small fish tank" because a fish tank that is too small cannot keep goldfish alive! It is better not to raise a fish than to let it die. If you don't know that the problem is that the fish tank is too small, you will continue to buy fish and keep them in it, and then: they will keep dying until you give up completely. At that time, you may still think that the fish died of illness, not knowing the real culprit, a sad ending~~~~ If your tank is big enough, just ignore what I said before^_^ for example; To keep two small goldfish alive, you need a fish tank at least as big as a washbasin. The mouth of the tank should be as large as possible so that more oxygen can be dissolved into the water. The fish have passed the first level only when they are not short of oxygen. You must ask if you can add oxygen? My answer is yes, but it should not be too large, otherwise the fish will be "cooked by oxygen" and die. Because you are just raising them for viewing, the requirements for still water fish breeding are the standards of experts. Another thing is the water body. Tap water needs to be air-dried for 2 days first, because the water plant puts chlorine-containing disinfectants, and chlorine can kill fish. Air-dried for 2 days is to allow the chlorine to evaporate. Well water is generally very good, but it should also be air-dried for 2-3 days first. In addition to the temperature, the lack of oxygen (except for open-air karez) is also one of the reasons. If conditions permit, it can be used directly after oxygenating for one day. All clean river, lake, stream, and pond water is very good, and after airing for 2-3 days, it is very good water for fish farming. Then there is the water temperature; the water temperature of the new tank must be the same as the fish's original water temperature. Goldfish may die (especially small fish) as long as the temperature difference is more than 3 degrees. Don't forget this, it is very important, because when goldfish are "stimulated" by cold or hot water, people can't see it from the outside, that is to say, there are no signs, and death or stagnation usually occurs after the second day. Finally, change the water. Changing the water does not mean pouring out the original water and replacing it with freshly dried water. Instead, it means raising both the water and the fish. Experts know that "raising fish means raising water". How do you understand raising water? Raising water means raising microorganisms and microalgae. Have you ever found that the inner wall of the fish tank will have a layer of slippery things after a long time? The water will turn light green or green (it needs light, and the intensity is only 1/4~1/8 of the outdoor sunlight). Those are the nitrifying bacteria and microalgae that are very beneficial to fish. Without them, goldfish cannot live safely. How to raise these bacteria and algae? It depends on adding water. Just don't wash off the slippery ones and don't change all the water (you can brush off a little on the ornamental surface). Just use a hose to suck away the fish feces at the bottom every day or every other day, and then add in fresh water that has been dried and isothermal. If you change all the water, you will find that the goldfish will either be dazed, not eating or swimming for 1-2 days, or simply get sick and die without treatment. In short, you should watch more and do less when raising fish in a new tank. Let the bacteria slowly multiply and crawl all over the inner wall of the fish tank. The water will slowly turn green. After that, it will be easy. Control the amount of water to be added according to the water color, keep the water in light green, and you can enjoy watching it. I'm too long-winded~0~Hehe Only after understanding the above points can you be considered an expert in fish farming. As for fish diseases, you can only rely on reading more books on the subject and slowly accumulate experience through knowledge and practice. |
