CATDOLL: Is shrimp farmed in seawater or freshwater?

1. Is shrimp farmed in seawater or freshwater?

The mud shrimp is a kind of marine shrimp, and it is a near-shore shallow sea shrimp. It is generally cultivated in seawater, but breeding units with conditions can use freshwater aquaculture technology to achieve freshwater aquaculture. This kind of shrimp is very abundant in my country, has great economic value, tastes delicious, and is loved by many people.

1. Distribution of the mud shrimp The mud shrimp, also known as the blade-headed shrimp, is a nearshore shallow-water shrimp. In my country, the mud shrimp is mainly distributed in the coastal areas of Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. The mud shrimp lives in sandy or muddy sea areas and has a very strong ability to adapt to the environment. The mud shrimp is omnivorous and carnivorous, and feeds on benthic organisms and bottom plankton. Because of its strong ability to adapt to the environment, the mud shrimp can survive in freshwater such as the sea.

2. Prawns can be farmed in both seawater and freshwater. Prawns have a strong tolerance for low salt, high water temperature and low dissolved oxygen, and can survive for a long time after leaving the water, so they are particularly suitable for commercial farming. Prawns can survive in pure fresh water and seawater with a salinity of 35%, so some factories now use natural seawater to farm prawns, or they can use freshwater farming methods. However, if you want to farm in freshwater, you need to desalinate the prawns in advance, gradually reduce the salinity of the water, and let the prawns slowly adapt. Under normal circumstances, ten days of desalination will allow prawns to survive in fresh water.

3. Economic Value of the Shrimp The shrimp is delicious, reproduces quickly, is large and meaty, has strong disease resistance, and has tender meat. It is a shrimp that is more suitable for digging, so it is loved by people. Because this shrimp has a strong survival ability and can survive for a long time out of water, many inland areas can also eat fresh live shrimp. Therefore, this shrimp is also a shrimp with very high economic benefits and nutritional value.

Dear readers, do you like to eat shrimp with vegetables? How do you usually eat it? Let's talk about the delicious shrimp in your mind.

Prawns can be farmed in both freshwater and seawater. The key is whether the shrimp seedlings you buy are desalinated or seawater. You can take the water (middle and bottom water) from the area you want to farm to the nursery for testing and measure the salinity of the water. The nursery will desalinate some of the shrimp seedlings for you based on your water body, and you can directly put them into the pond for breeding after you take them back. (It is recommended that freshwater prawns have more diseases, so it is best to mix in some seawater.) If you are right, remember to add some points to this!! Haha, I have 5 years of experience in shrimp farming. Because there are more diseases now, I have "turned over a new leaf".

2. Are shrimps freshwater or seawater?

Prawns are saltwater shrimp.

Most shrimps are distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea and various sea areas north of the Yangtze River. They have high requirements for the breeding environment, so the breeding cost is high and relatively expensive.

Shrimp can be divided into sedentary types (such as Japanese shrimp, broad-grooved shrimp, European shrimp, Bohai shrimp, etc.) and migratory types (such as Chinese shrimp, black shrimp, long-haired shrimp). The former live in the shallow sea along the coast of Xuqi, often dive into the sandy bottom during the day and do not move over a large area; the latter live in the turbid waters along the estuary coast, often move and migrate over a large area. Shrimp mainly feed on benthic invertebrates, such as polychaetes, small crustaceans and bivalve mollusks, and sometimes also catch zooplankton.

The difference between prawns and shrimps

Different in size: Prawns, also known as prawns, are larger than shrimps. Even the skinny prawns are larger than shrimps. They can usually grow to 20-30cm. The skin of shrimps is relatively soft and only the size of a human middle finger.

Different color: When the shrimp grows to a certain stage, the shell will turn into blue-gray, the color of the mud shrimp will be a little yellow, and the shrimp feet will be slightly red.

3. Are shrimps raised in fresh water or sea water?

Prawns can be farmed in both freshwater and seawater.

However, it should be noted that most shrimp seedlings are raised in seawater factories or caught naturally. To successfully culture them in fresh water, the shrimp seedlings need to be desalinated. Desalination means gradually adding fresh water to the nursery pond to reduce the specific gravity of the pond water so that the shrimp seedlings can adapt to growing in fresh water. Generally, after 7 to 10 days of desalination, they can be placed in ponds for culture.

When breeding the big pants source shrimp, you need to build a pond first, the bottom of the pond should be flat, and the water inside should be running water. About a week before stocking, you need to fertilize it, and the fertilizer is mainly inorganic fertilizer and organic fertilizer. When the larvae live in low-salinity estuaries and inner bays, they gradually move to high-salinity waters with a depth of 15-50 meters as they grow, and the depth is mostly 20-30 meters.

Introduction to Prawns

Omnivorous shrimps mainly feed on natural bait in the pond within 7 days after the shrimp fry are put into the pond. 7 to 10 days after the fry are put into the pond, small-particle shrimp compound feed will be fed.

After 30 days, the fish should be fed mainly with artificial compound feed, supplemented with animal feed such as snail meat, clam meat or small fish meat. The daily feed amount should be 3% to 4% of the total shrimp body volume in the pond. The daytime feeding amount should not exceed 1/3 of the daily feed amount, and should not be less than 2/3 in the evening.

When the water temperature is high and the growth is vigorous, the amount of feed can be appropriately increased, and the number of feedings can be 3 to 4 times a day. In order to accurately grasp the rolling state of the feed amount, several feeding tables should be set up in each pond. The feeding tables are located on the shore near the bottom of the pond. The feed put on the feeding tables is 1.5% of the amount of feed each time, and the rest of the bait is scattered around the pond. Check the amount of residual bait in the bait table 2 hours after each feeding.
