Red Arowana (Scleropages formosus) is native to rivers in Sumatra and Kalimantan, Indonesia. According to the color depth and scale thickness of adult fish, it can be divided into three varieties: pepper red arowana (thick scales), blood red arowana (thin scales) and orange red arowana (the scales of adult red arowana are orange red, which is not as bright as blood red or pepper red).

Red dragon fish is usually the most expensive species among freshwater ornamental fish (some rare two-headed dragon fish are several times more expensive than red dragon fish). Its body shape is similar to that of golden dragon fish and red-tailed golden dragon fish. There are four types of red dragon fish: orange-red, pink, dark red and blood red. Blood red is the most beautiful and precious, and its quantity is very small. Due to the influence of Chinese dragon culture, dragon fish has become the embodiment of auspiciousness, which means to attract fortune and wealth, so it is elegantly called Feng Shui fish.

A misunderstanding of red dragon fish breeding is that everyone always thinks that feeding it more will make it grow better. The correct way is to feed it small meals frequently, and feed it 70% to 80% full each time. If there are multiple dragon fish in the fish tank, feed them in equal amounts to avoid fighting because of competing for food.
