CATDOLL: How to raise soft-shell turtles

1. How to raise soft-shelled turtles

Cut the raw pork liver into cubes and feed it to the dog, and it will eat it.

2. How to keep turtles alive in summer?

In summer, mosquitoes can kill them. Soft-shelled turtles are very afraid of mosquitoes, which are their natural enemies. Pay attention to cleaning the pool. The best effect is to feed fish, shrimp, earthworms, animal offal, snail meat, frog, rat and snake meat, with cooked wheat grains, cakes and vegetables. When raising soft-shelled turtles, we must adhere to the four rules: fixed time, fixed location, fixed quality and fixed quantity, and cultivate the feeding habits of young turtles at fixed times and locations. In the hot season, feed once at 9 am and once at 5 pm. After autumn, feed once a day, and feed should be thrown on the feeding table close to the water surface. It can be set up with wooden boards or asbestos tiles 10 cm underwater, with a slope of 25 degrees. The bait must be fresh, without rot or mildew. Before feeding every day, the feeding table must be cleaned and disinfected to prevent contamination of new feed and pollution of water quality. Disease prevention and treatment: Many turtles die because of illness, and some diseases are visible. For example, skin ulcers, shell rot, eye diseases, and some diseases are difficult to detect. For example, digestive system diseases, parasites, etc., because once the turtle is sick, it is difficult or impossible to treat, so we can only take prevention as the priority. First of all, we must keep the fish tank clean, and do not change the water until it becomes smelly. If there is too much moss on the turtle's shell, it must be brushed clean. Put the turtle in the sun often, feed it fresh and clean, and wash the loach, small fish, and water earthworms you buy. It is best to keep them for a few days to drain the dirt in their bodies before feeding them to the turtle.

The diseases that can be treated are mainly skin ulcers, shell rot, and eye diseases. Once discovered, you can bathe the turtle with potassium permanganate solution. Be careful not to make the solution too concentrated, and be careful not to let the turtle drink it. Milder cases should be able to be cured, but severe cases depend on luck.

When raising turtles, you should choose a place with good light, warm and quiet, and convenient water supply and drainage to build a turtle pond. The pond should be about 1.5 meters deep, and the soil at the bottom of the pond should be clay with good water retention performance. You should choose those excellent turtles to breed turtle fry. It is best to choose those turtles that are 5-6 years old, weigh more than 1,000 grams, and are disease-free, harmless, and without injuries. The turtle shell is hard, and the rear edge is thick and wrinkled. For the small turtles that have just hatched, they should be placed in a moist fine sand box for 3-5 days and then moved to the pond. For young and adult turtles, animal feed is the main source, including fish, shrimp, poultry viscera, earthworms, fish meal, cornmeal, rice bran, and vegetables. For those leftover baits that cannot be eaten, they should be removed in time to keep the water clean.

3. How to raise soft-shelled turtles

It is best to leave the tap water for a few days, or go to the fish store to buy special medicine, but it is still recommended to use tap water that has been left for a few days.

Change the water frequently. If you don't have enough time to change the water frequently, buy a filter. You can buy it in the fish store. Choose the power of the filter according to the size of the fish tank. The fish store owner will tell you how much power to buy.

You can put a stone in the fish tank for the turtle to climb up and down, or you can buy a special turtle rack made of glass at the fish store. Of course, fish stores also have special tanks for raising turtles.

You don't need to put any sand at the bottom of the fish tank, but if you want to, don't use sand, because sand is quite dirty.

Fish stores usually sell small stones for fish tanks, some are white and some are colorful. You can buy some and put them on the bottom of the tank.

Mealworms, fish fry, fish worms, earthworms, and loaches can all be the staple food of turtles.

Turtles love to bask in the sun. They need direct sunlight, not sunlight blocked by glass. If they are blocked by glass, it is almost like basking in the sun in vain.

Because turtles need to absorb ultraviolet rays from the sun, as well as trace elements that are not found in their food and are necessary for growth, and calcium that makes the turtle shell hard.

4. How to raise small turtles?

1. Choose the right species. Choose according to the preferences of the general public and the needs of the market. There are many species of soft-shelled turtles, but generally speaking, the weight of a soft-shelled turtle is 500-1000 grams, the body is relatively thin, the color is mainly yellow-green, the back has black and yellow patterns, the bottom of the abdomen is light yellow-white, and there are no spots. Although this type of species grows slower than the soft-shelled turtle with no pattern on the back (commonly known as "plain") and star-shaped patterns on the abdomen, its meat quality and taste are better than the latter, so its value and price are better.

2. Ensure the water quality. The quality of water directly affects the breeding effect of soft-shelled turtles. If the pond water is too rich or even smelly, it is not only bad for the growth of soft-shelled turtles, but also affects the taste of their meat. Generally, clean river water is added to the pond once every week or so, and the total amount accounts for about a quarter of the original pond. Clean the remaining food on the table regularly. In addition, plant water hyacinths in the pond, which accounts for about half of the total pond. This can purify the water quality on the one hand, and provide a hidden and quiet place for soft-shelled turtles on the other hand, and try to meet their natural living habits.

3. Do a good job of disease prevention. For ponds with convenient drainage and good escape prevention facilities, stock 2-3 turtle fry of basically the same size (50-100 grams) per square meter. Sprinkle the entire pond with 30-50 grams of quicklime per cubic meter of water every 15 days or so. Unless there are very special circumstances, it is forbidden to step on or catch turtles in the pond. At the same time, use bamboo rafts to build several drying platforms for the turtles to bask in the sun.

Although this method of raising turtles takes a long time, it takes about three years from seedlings to 500 grams of commercial turtles, including two hibernation periods, but its economic benefits are good. The cost of feed and seedlings per kilogram does not exceed 60 yuan, and the rest is income. This method is suitable for family breeding in small water bodies. For the current stage of planting industry, it is a good project and worth promoting.

Because the turtle is carnivorous, I feed it some small fish and shrimp, which I cut with scissors and then feed it. Other small insects are also fine, such as mealworms bought at the flower and bird market. However, if you only have one, you don't have to buy it, because the small turtle has a small appetite. It would be a waste if you buy too much, and you still have to feed it mealworms. In addition, rice bugs and other things are also fine. As long as it eats, you can feed it

But it is winter now, and turtles are cold-blooded animals. The temperature is so low that they have almost no ability to move and cannot eat. So you should get a small basin, put a little water in it, preferably rice water, and then put it in a dark place to let it spend the winter. As long as it survives this winter, in the spring of next year, the weather will gradually warm up. Around mid-April, it will begin to recover its vitality. At this time, you can feed it a lot of food. As long as it eats a lot, it will grow quickly. It's very interesting:)

5. How to raise soft-shelled turtles? Please teach me!

The first answer will earn 2 points. If the answer is accepted, you will get the reward points and an additional 20 points. Soft-shelled turtles are easy to raise. It is best to keep them in water during the day. The water can be deeper. They are good swimmers, but they need a platform to rest and bask in the sun. Their diet is much more diverse than that of turtles. They eat almost everything, but it is best to feed them small fish, shrimps, mealworms, etc., and you can also add some fruits and vegetables. You can feed them directly into the water. This guy can eat and poop, and will soon make the water very dirty. Pay attention to changing the water frequently to ensure the water quality, otherwise they will get sick. More sun exposure is good for the growth of soft-shelled turtles, but don't expose them to excessive sunlight. Put them in the sand at night. The sand can be thicker. They will swing their limbs and try their best to drill in. It looks very funny. Then don't worry about it. Wait until the next day, put them in the sun, and they will poke their heads out after a while. They look very cute when basking in the sun!

But please note that the feeding tools must be deep, as they are masters of jailbreaking and will escape if you are not careful.
