It takes more than a year for a small king crab to grow to the size we see on the table. The Alaskan king crab is a large deep-sea cold-water crab. The diameter of the king crab's carapace, that is, the shell, can reach 30cm. The king crab is covered with hard small ridges all over its body, and it looks very tough. The walking legs on both sides are nearly 1.8m long when fully extended. In addition to the chest, it is the legs. Because of its strong long legs, it is the only crab that can crawl horizontally and walk vertically.

This environment cannot be artificially simulated at present. The king crabs on the market are caught by fishermen at sea.

5. How are king crabs artificially cultivated in the country?

Since king crabs live in cold water areas at a depth of 400-800 meters, it is difficult to breed them artificially. The king crabs currently sold on the market are basically caught by fishermen. The water temperature of the king crabs in the hotel is kept below 10 degrees in summer and around 15 degrees in winter, with a salinity of 24-26 degrees, and the water is changed about once a month.
