As long as the water is not frozen, it can eat and grow, but the feeding intensity is weakened and the growth is slow.

The dissolved oxygen in the water for trout farming should be above 5mg/L. When the dissolved oxygen is 5mg/L, the fish's breathing rate will speed up and they will feel uncomfortable. At 4mg/L, they will show symptoms of hypoxia, which often leads to death. When the dissolved oxygen is 3mg/L, a large number of deaths will occur. The pH value of the aquaculture water should be maintained at 5-9, the alkalinity should be 1.5mg.n/L, and the hardness should be 8-12. Rainbow trout has a wide range of adaptability to salinity. After a short period of acclimation, they can be raised in seawater.

Water is a prerequisite for rainbow trout farming. The water used for farming should be flowing cold water, with a water temperature below 22℃ all year round and no ice in winter.
