CATDOLL: How to keep mantis shrimp alive overnight, how long can they live in fresh water

If the purchased mantis shrimps need to be kept overnight, it is best to put them in seawater and sea sand to keep them active. If you are close to the sea, add seawater directly. If you are not close to the sea, you can ask the stall owner for some seawater when you buy it. If there is no seawater, you can also put the mantis shrimp in the fish tank. Because there is an oxygenating device in the fish tank, it can ensure that they have enough oxygen. It is best to add some sea salt to the fresh water, which can prolong their survival time. 1. How to keep the mantis shrimp alive overnight If you want to keep the purchased mantis shrimp alive overnight, you can put them in seawater and sea sand. Because they are marine organisms, they can be kept alive in seawater and sea sand. As long as there is enough seawater, they can survive overnight. If you are not close to the sea, you can choose to ask the stall owner for some seawater, so that you can temporarily breed mantis shrimp. If there is no seawater, you can also put the mantis shrimp directly into the fish tank. Because there is an oxygenating device in the fish tank, the mantis shrimp can survive temporarily. If conditions permit, you can add some sea salt to the fresh water, so that the mantis shrimp will last longer.

2. How long can mantis shrimp live in fresh water? Mantis shrimp can survive in fresh water for 30-60 minutes, but different species of mantis shrimp can survive in fresh water for different periods of time. Because they live in the ocean and have adapted to the seawater environment, it is difficult for them to survive in fresh water for too long. Some mantis shrimp with poor physique or special species will not survive in fresh water for too long, and will generally die in about 20-30 minutes. Some species or individuals can survive longer, about 60 minutes.
