Do cats have left and right hands?

Are cats left-handed or right-handed?

People are divided into left-handed and right-handed, and so are animals. Humans are actually advanced animals that have evolved, so what humans have, animals may also have. Left-handedness and left-handedness are actually a good example. Whether it is a human or an animal, no one is born left-handed or right-handed. This is all formed later due to the environment and the needs of life.

Scientists have pointed out that the human brain is divided into left and right parts. The left brain is more developed and controls the right half of the limbs, which is why we often use our right hand. People have always believed that the phenomenon of "left and right brain division of labor" is unique to humans. From the perspective of evolution, the division of labor in the brain began after humans appeared. But now scientists have discovered that this phenomenon is actually very common in vertebrates and can be traced back to the century when vertebrates appeared.

Zoologists have shown that there are three ways to tell whether an animal is left-handed or right-handed. The first is walking. Before an animal starts walking, you can observe which foot it takes out first. After repeated observations, you will find that the foot that the animal takes out first is usually fixed.

The second method is to "shake hands" with animals. This method is particularly effective for dogs, as the hand they extend is usually their dominant hand, but this method also requires several attempts.

Third, use food to attract them. Put the things that animals like in easy-to-reach places, and then they will naturally reach out to take them, and you will find that the hand they reach out to take is their dominant hand.

In fact, animals are not born left-handed or right-handed. Instead, they develop the habit of using their left or right hands as the environment influences them. The proportion of the two is half and half. Among them, almost all polar bears are left-handed. In addition, fish and birds are also divided into "left-handed and left-handed". For example, when fish encounter natural enemies, fish that are used to using their right eyes will escape to the right, and vice versa, fish that are used to escaping with their left eyes will escape to the left. Birds are the same as fish. When looking at the surrounding environment, birds that are used to using their right eyes will look to the right first and then to the left.

Therefore, in such a big world, there are many things waiting to be discovered. Although humans are the most advanced animals on earth, sometimes they are not even as advanced as animals. Only through scientific research can we discover these mysteries.
