Why do kittens have tears in their eyes?

Reasons why kittens have tears in their eyes:

1. Dietary issues

If cats eat too much hot food or too salty cat food, they can easily get inflamed and have red and tearful eyes.

2. Inadequate eye cleaning

Cats' eyes need to be cleaned every day. After all, cats secrete a small amount of eye mucus every day. If they are not cleaned in time, the eye mucus will accumulate more and more, and a large number of bacteria will breed over time, causing eye discomfort and tearing.

3. Inverted eyelashes

Cats' facial structures are relatively crowded, so their eyes are easily irritated by long hair and cause tears.

4. Infection with pathogens

Cats shed tears due to illness, such as colds, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc. Cats' eyes are relatively fragile and can be easily infected by bacteria, viruses or parasites, which can cause redness and swelling of the eyes and increased secretions.

Solutions to kittens' tearful eyes:

1. Adjust the diet. Don’t feed your cat too much food that is easy to cause inflammation. Feed it mainly light food and supplement it with meat. You can add some pet cleaning agent to the food to help your cat reduce tears. When you have time, make some light soup or porridge to alleviate the tears in the cat’s eyes.

2. Use a clean wet towel to wipe the condensed dirt in the cat's eyes every day, and then drop eye drops into the eyes to keep the eyeballs clean and moist, and maintain eye health.

3. Regularly trim the long hair around the cat's eyes, or go to a pet beauty salon for beauty treatments. Massage the cat's eyes more often to relax them and relieve tearing. If the cat is born with inverted eyelashes, which can easily irritate the eyeball, it is recommended to remove them surgically.

4. Pay more attention to your cat’s health and check whether its eyes are inflamed, and give it timely treatment.
