How to deal with cat lice

How to deal with lice on cats:

1. Spray lice removal medicine

If the cat already has lice, you can spray lice medicine on the cat's skin. Generally, three times or so will produce good results, but be careful to spray it on places that the cat cannot lick to avoid accidental ingestion and affect the cat's health.

2. Choose a lice comb

The teeth of a lice comb are hard and closely spaced, so you can easily comb out the lice on your cat. After combing out the lice, immediately soak them in soapy water to prevent the lice from jumping away.

3. Clean the cat’s living environment regularly

Lice are very tenacious, especially in the summer, so owners should regularly use vacuum cleaners to clean places where cats often live, such as cat nests, floors, and carpets, which are places where bacteria are prone to breed.

Reasons why cats get lice:

1. Contact with other animals with lice. Lice are external parasites, and cats must have an infectious source to get lice. Cats that spend a long time outdoors are prone to infection.

2. Cats have not been dewormed for a long time, which creates a favorable parasitic environment for lice. It is recommended to deworm cats internally and externally once a month. Use pet-specific deworming medicine.

3. Cats have not been bathed for a long time. Lice like damp and unclean environments. You should pay attention to the cleanliness of cats and bathe them once a month.

4. If a cat is infected with lice, it should be dewormed immediately, and attention should be paid to killing lice in the environment. Otherwise, it is easy to be infected repeatedly. It is recommended that the owner use disinfectants to regularly disinfect the home environment and cat supplies.
