CATDOLL : Can cats eat mangosteen?

Can cats eat mangosteen?

Cats can eat mangosteen in small amounts. Mangosteen itself is not toxic to cats. Mangosteen has a very high nutritional value and is rich in vitamins, dietary fiber, and trace elements. The dietary fiber in it has a certain effect on preventing constipation in cats. However, mangosteen has a high sugar content. Eating too much can easily cause diarrhea and other discomfort symptoms in cats. It is not recommended for cats with weak gastrointestinal function. Finally, when feeding mangosteen to cats, be sure to remove the core to avoid getting stuck in the cat's throat or causing poisoning.

Foods that cats cannot eat:

1. Grapes, raisins, and wine

Grapes may cause renal failure in cats, so you must pay attention to prevent cats from ingesting grapes or grape products, such as raisins, wine, etc.

2. Onion

Onions can destroy the red blood cells of cats, so it is best not to let cats eat onions, or products that use onions as raw materials or auxiliary materials. In addition, garlic is not suitable for cats.

3. Dairy products

Most cats cannot break down the lactose in milk, and may suffer from indigestion, diarrhea, and loose stools after drinking it, so try not to give your cat milk. If your cat likes to drink milk very much, you can try lactose-free milk.

4. Seafood

Cats may be allergic to some seafood, which may cause diarrhea or more serious poisoning. Therefore, you must be more careful when feeding seafood to cats and try to feed them less seafood.

5. Alcoholic Beverages

Alcohol can affect a cat's brain and nerves, and even a small amount of alcohol can cause irreversible damage to a cat.

6. Raw meat and raw eggs

Some raw meat and raw eggs contain bacteria and parasites and are not recommended to be fed directly to cats.
