CATDOLL: Why can cats jump so far?

Cats have flexible spines that are good at bending and stretching. At the same time, the muscles in their trunk and back are strong, making their bodies like springs, which can store and exert force throughout the body when jumping. Compared with the slightly stiff trunks of humans and dogs, this is a great advantage in jumping.

Cats have short thigh bones and can bend toward the abdomen to a large extent, creating a larger space for exerting force. In addition, cats have long metatarsals, so the entire paw of a cat can also exert force. Most importantly, the muscles of a cat's entire hind legs and feet are very strong. Therefore, cats have very good jumping ability.
