CATDOLL: Why do cats keep shaking their heads and scratching their ears after using ear cleaning solution?

When you wash your cat's ears, he will feel uncomfortable because of liquid in his ears, so he will shake his head reflexively, which can actually shake out the large pieces of dirt in his ears.

Except for special ear cleaning solutions, we do not recommend using other liquids, such as alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, to clean the ears because they are very irritating.

Ear cleaning steps:

1. Lift the cat's ears from behind and check the cat's ears.

2. Pour an appropriate amount of ear wash solution

3. Pinch the cat's ears to prevent the cat from shaking its head, and quickly knead the base of the cat's ears a few times.

4. Let go and let the cat shake its head freely

5. Use a napkin or cotton to wipe the cat's wet fur and remove the dirt inside the external ear.

6. Put some Meowthink ear cleaning solution on a napkin or cotton and clean the external ear.

7. Wash the same ear several times until there is no large dirt.

8. Repeat the above steps for the other ear.

If the cat resists, you can wrap the cat's body with clothes, leaving only the head exposed, and then you can stop the cat from moving.
