Causes of hairball disease in cats

Cats love to be clean. They comb their hair with their tongues every day until their hair is smooth and clean. In this process, the hair will be eaten into the stomach. Some of the hair will be discharged with feces, and the other part will accumulate in the body. When the hair balls are large enough, cats will vomit them out. However, some cats cannot vomit the hair balls in their stomachs. If this continues for a long time, the hair balls formed by the indigestible and vomited hair will become large enough to block the digestive tract and cause a series of diseases.

Ways to prevent hairballs in cats:

1. Combing your cat's hair frequently is the best way. Especially when the seasons change, take some time to comb your cat's hair. This can effectively prevent hairballs.

2. Cat grass. Cat grass can stimulate the cat's intestinal peristalsis and allow the cat to expel some hairballs in the stomach through vomiting. Cat grass can not only relieve the cat's hairball disease, but also improve the cat's oral environment and relieve the cat's mental stress.

3. Feed cat food with hairball control effect. Some cat food on the market has added special formula for hairball control, which can reduce the accumulation of hair in the cat's body and prevent the formation of hairballs.

4. Guiding cats to drink more water can allow their skin and hair to get sufficient moisture nourishment, which can help alleviate hair loss. Drinking more water can increase the cat's metabolism and lubricate the stomach and intestines.
