CATDOLL: Silver Arowana is a large carnivorous fish that lives in the Amazon River basin. How do you raise Silver Arowana?

Golden Arowana is a large carnivorous fish that lives in the Amazon River Basin, and its main activity area is surface water. They will prey on fish and shrimp in the water, insects that fall into the water, and will also jump out of the water to prey on branches. To breed silver Arowana, you need to master basic knowledge such as water quality, water temperature, and feeding management. Silver Arowana is a large carnivorous fish that lives in the Amazon River Basin. What are the methods for breeding silver Arowana?

Silver Arowana is a large carnivorous fish that lives in the Amazon River basin. How to raise Silver Arowana?

1. Water quality

Silver Arowana is suitable for living in weakly acidic water. The pH value of the water should be kept between 6.5 and 7.5, and the content of nitrite and chlorine should be as close to zero as possible. At the beginning of the aquarium, it is necessary to establish a good nitrification system by retaining water to maintain stable water quality. Good water quality is the basis for breeding silver Arowana, and fishing is required every time the water is changed.

2. Water temperature

Temperatures change throughout the year, but no matter how the outside world changes, it is best to keep the water temperature in the tank between 25-28 degrees Celsius. Heating and cooling the fish tank in a timely manner, rising or falling slowly, is also a step that requires more research and study when breeding silver arowana. Arowana are very sensitive and will feel any slight change in water temperature. Sudden fluctuations in water temperature can easily scare them or make them sick.

3. Feeding

Young silver arowana under 12 cm can be fed with raw bait such as mealworms and small river shrimps four times a day, and pay attention to feeding small meals frequently. Feeding mealworms usually makes them picky eaters, so feeding them mealworms occasionally is fine. The hard shells of small river shrimps can easily hurt the stomach, so be sure to remove the head and tail of the shrimp before feeding. Silver arowana about 15 cm are very edible. In addition to small river shrimps, they can also eat Zhu Wenjing and one or two centimeters of tiger skin. The number of feedings and the amount of feeding can be appropriately increased. Observe the arowana every time you feed it. If its belly is a little bulging and it is not eating very quickly, it means that it is almost full.

4. Management

When raising silver arowana, you need to pay attention to changing the water regularly, which can be done every three days, changing one-third or one-quarter of the water each time. At the same time, the filter needs to be cleaned regularly. Arowana grows very fast, so the fish tank cannot be too small, at least 140 cm. It is best to raise it in a bare tank, without bottom sand or water plants.

Generally, we use the best method and the best materials to feed the fish, so that they can grow flesh, which can help the fish grow.

Silver Arowana has very high requirements for its environment. First of all, in terms of diet, it is a typical carnivore, and only fresh meat can satisfy its appetite.

The breeding of silver arowana is very demanding in terms of water temperature, and breeding requires a large number of small fish fry and people's long-term attention.
