This disease is caused by a filterable viral infection (Meningococcus pyogenes). The disease mainly occurs after the bullfrog metamorphosis, and can also be seen in the tadpole stage. In the early stage of the disease, the frogs often rotate intermittently on the water surface, and then the head tilts to one side, the eyeballs bulge out, and the eyes become blind, so this disease is also called cataract (bulging eyeballs covered with a layer of white film). Death occurs 2-3 days after the onset of symptoms, and occasionally 6-7 days later. After the disease occurs, peritonitis (abdominal hematoma) will also occur. The reason is that the increase in brain pressure destroys the automatic operation system of the internal organs, causing the function to stagnate, causing harmful bacteria in the water (such as Vibrio, Streptococcus, Hydrophila and Aeromonas) to invade the body and multiply in large numbers to destroy normal cells in the internal organs, forming severe bacterial peritonitis and necrosis of internal organs. If sulfonamides are used at this time, death will be accelerated. (Because sulfonamides have certain damage to the kidneys, they will also destroy the hematopoietic function of the liver, reduce autoantibodies, and accelerate the death of bullfrogs). 1. Remove dead frogs and seriously ill frogs and bury them in a pit 10 meters outside the site (do not throw dead frogs or seriously ill frogs away or abandon them in the site). Replace 1/3 of the pool water, spray compound iodine, benzalkonium bromide, and glutaraldehyde to reduce the density of pathogens (to prevent mixed infection), use closed immersion disinfection for 2-3 consecutive days, and then keep fresh water source entering. 2. Oral administration: During the treatment period, take florfenicol, Lechang 2-3g/kg, and Xingfu 100, 1-2g/kg, for 5-7 consecutive days. During the recovery period, take bile acid 3-5g/kg, with Xingfu 100, 1-2g/kg, and multivitamin for 5-7 days to promote intestinal wound healing and restore physical fitness. |
