CATDOLL: How should I raise silver carp if I want to do so?

Silver carp is one of the four major carps. Its biological name is bighead carp, commonly known as silver carp, bighead carp, fathead, etc. It is famous for its big head. However, this type of fish mainly feeds on zooplankton in the water, so the water bodies it lives in are generally fertile. For fish raised in this water body, it is best to keep it in clean water for a few days to let it drain the dirt in its stomach before eating it. This will make the taste much fresher and less fishy. So how can you keep silver carp at home so that it can live longer? This depends on your personal conditions.

Silver carp can survive normally in natural water bodies, so why is it difficult to keep it alive at home? Because we usually use tap water at home, which does not contain plankton, algae, etc. If we create an ecological environment for it to survive, it can live for a long time, such as preparing pond water with plankton and planting some aquatic plants.

In addition to the water quality required by general fish, such as being convenient and pollution-free, because silver carp is mainly a filter feeder, mainly filtering various zooplankton in the water, and sometimes eating some small organic debris, the water used to breed silver carp must be fertile. Only by ensuring the fertility of the water can its production be guaranteed and the breeding of adults be reduced (feeding of artificial bait can be reduced in water with abundant bait). If the pH value of the breeding water is slightly alkaline (7.5-8.5), it is more beneficial to the growth of fish.

How to make the water fertile without affecting the oxygen content in the water? First of all, there are still many substances that can enrich the water quality. The most direct way is to put in chemical fertilizers, but the side effects are relatively large and the cost is low. The second is to buy water quality enrichment agents on Taobao to promote the fertility of the water quality. There are two ways to raise silver carp: single culture and mixed culture. Mixed culture is to raise it together with other species of fish, so that the entire ecosystem in the fish pond can be balanced. Single culture is to directly put in seedlings without adding other seedlings.

Chemical fertilizers with richer nutrients should be used, as this is the only way to better promote the growth of fish.

Generally, it is from May to June, avoiding the peak period of wheelworms. The stocking method is generally mixed culture, which can give full play to the utilization rate of water and the more economical use of food. A small amount of white carp, big silver carp and carp can be mixed.

When it comes to breeding, the best way is to pay attention to the temperature and seasonality. In addition, you should pay attention to how to disinfect and use medicines during the entire breeding process, as they play a very important role.
