Raising the southern golden coin turtle is easy to raise and has high profits, which can make you a lot of money. Many turtle farmers in Guangdong have become rich, and some of them have built houses and bought cars by raising turtles. CCTV's "Richness" column, Pearl River Economic TV, China Yangcheng Evening News and other media have reported on the successful experience of some Guangdong residents raising turtles to get rich. Some people resigned from their jobs and raised turtles at home, with an annual net income of more than 100,000 yuan or even hundreds of thousands of yuan, which is more than ten times or even dozens of times higher than the annual salary of the company. Mr. Yang is a resident of Maoming City, Guangdong Province. In 2007, he bought 100 groups (300) of Vietnamese golden coin turtles (already in stable production) and 2,000 Vietnamese golden coin turtle seedlings from Jinyuan Turtle Seedling Farm in Dianbai County, and raised them on his roof. In October 2009, he sold 1,900 seedlings bought in 2007 (some died, so he kept some and did not sell them, so he only sold 1,900), each for 600 yuan, with a total income of 1.08 million yuan. After deducting the cost of buying seedlings and feeding costs of 300,000 yuan, he made a net profit of 780,000 yuan. At the same time, he sold 1,000 seedlings hatched from seed turtles bought in 2007 (not sold in 2008, but sold in October 2009), each for 350 yuan, a total of 350,000 yuan, after deducting the feeding cost of 20,000 yuan, he made a net profit of 330,000 yuan. The above two items together made a net profit of 1.11 million yuan.

1. High value and great practical use

The golden coin turtle is one of the most valuable turtles, second only to the golden coin turtle. The main ones are:

If the newly hatched turtle seedlings are raised in a heated environment, each turtle seedling can grow (gain weight) by 5-8 liang (250-400 grams) per year, and the farming profit is generally more than 50%. Take the farmer Mr. Lin as an example. In August 2010, he bought 1,000 newly hatched turtle seedlings (each turtle seedling weighed about 10 grams) at a cost of 330,000 yuan (the unit price of each turtle seedling was 330 yuan). He raised them in a heated environment for five months, that is, in January 2011, his turtle seedlings grew to 1-4 liang (50-200 grams). A buyer bought 950 of Mr. Lin's turtle seedlings at a price of 625 yuan each (among Mr. Lin's 1,000 turtle seedlings, 31 died, 12 had broken tails and deformed, and 7 weighed less than 1 liang, so the buyer only bought 950). Mr. Lin earned 593,700 yuan. Excluding the feeding cost of 10,000 yuan (the feeding cost of each turtle seedling for 5 months was about 10 yuan) and the cost of purchasing turtle seedlings of 330,000 yuan, Mr. Lin made a net profit of 250,000 yuan from raising turtles for five months, with a profit margin of more than 75%.

(II) There are many customers who buy and raise money turtles, and the market demand is huge. The golden coin turtle is mainly produced in Guangdong and Guangxi in my country and is sold all over the world. At present, the Chinese government encourages artificial turtle breeding, so many people buy and raise it: First, they buy and raise it for investment and wealth. Since the investment profit and medical and edible value of golden coin turtles are very high, and other industries are generally in a downturn, and the method of raising golden coin turtles at home is simple, as long as there is a roof, balcony or room, they can be raised. It can be said that all families are suitable for raising turtles. Therefore, this type of purchase and raising demand is huge. Second, the purchase and raising for human needs. It is said that the golden coin turtle can ward off evil spirits, eliminate disasters and avoid harm, and protect the house and bring in wealth. Many people buy a few golden coin turtles when they move into their homes to protect the house and bring in wealth, and pray for good luck and blessings. Third, they buy and raise them as pets. Turtles have always been considered a symbol of wealth, nobility and power, and are a good gift. 3. Lack of high-quality varieties and slow reproduction

(I) The number of wild species is decreasing year by year. There are very few wild golden coin turtles in the wild, and the number of wild species surviving in farmers is also quite limited. Moreover, their number is decreasing year by year due to factors such as aging, natural elimination, and improper artificial breeding methods.

(II) Poor breeding quality. The wild population has the strongest reproductive capacity of golden coin turtles. Each female turtle can hatch about 10 hatchlings per year. These golden coin turtle hatchlings are divided into three parts: the first part is the turtles that died and were eliminated due to diseases and other reasons during the breeding process, accounting for about 20%; the second part is the turtles that are heated and raised by farmers as commercial turtles (i.e., vegetable turtles used for soup, which cannot be used as breeding turtles, with low egg production, low fertilization rate, and poor seedling quality), accounting for about 60%; the third part is the turtles that are cultivated for breeding, accounting for about 20%, and it will take 5 years before they can lay eggs, and it will take about 5 years after that before they can produce steadily. Therefore, there are very few golden coin turtles with good quality bred and bred on the market, which ultimately leads to a very slow reproduction rate of good quality golden coin turtles.

4. Strong self-management and low market volatility

(I) Independent management. Breeding golden coin turtles is an independent operation. Buying and selling is entirely up to the farmers themselves. They can adjust freely without any seasonality. For example, a farmer raises 100 turtle seedlings this year. If they grow to a certain weight next year and the profit reaches his target, he can choose to sell them. If the profit does not reach his target, he can choose not to sell them and wait until the next year to sell them, or continue breeding until he reaches his profit target. This is because the cost of feeding golden coin turtle seedlings is very low (they eat less and can be fed once every 10 days or more, without the need for special workers to manage them), and their weight and value increase year by year. The older they are, the more valuable they are, and each additional year will accumulate an additional year of profit. When the profit reaches his target, he will sell them.
