The biogenic amines (histamine, cadaverine, histidine, etc.) contained in the diet; dietary ingredients, such as accumulated fish meal, corn meal, soybean meal, vitamin premix, fat, poultry meal and meat and bone meal, all contain a large amount of biogenic amines that are toxic to the body. The disease has an early onset, a long course, a high incidence rate, and a large relationship between the mortality rate and secondary diseases. There are no obvious clinical symptoms in the early stage. In the early stage of the disease, the secondary Escherichia coli, Newcastle disease, mycoplasma, enteritis, coccidia and other diseases greatly increase the chance of mortality.

3. How to treat chicken glandular gastritis?

1. Treatment

For emergency vaccination, the entire flock of chickens should be urgently injected with oil-emulsion inactivated vaccine, 0.5 ml per chicken. One needle should be changed for 10 to 15 chickens. Healthy chickens should be injected first, followed by seriously ill chickens to prevent the spread of infection through the needle.

2. Drug treatment

① The whole flock of chickens drank pure doxycycline powder (5g of medicine plus 50kg of water) in the morning, and pure ribavirin powder (5g plus 75kg of water) in the afternoon, and drank electrolytic multivitamin at the same time; ② Andrographis paniculata 45g, Coptis chinensis 30g, Agarwood 30g, Scutellaria baicalensis 45g, Phellodendron chinense 40g, Ephedra sinica 30g, Bupleurum 50g, Licorice 40g, Folium Isatidis 45g, Radix Isatidis 45g, Forsythiae suspensa 30g, Scrophularia 30g, all ground into powder, added appropriate amount of water to boil and cool, 1% mixed with feed for 5 consecutive days. After taking the above method for 3 days, the condition of the chickens improved significantly, the epidemic was under control, and the death of seriously ill chickens was reduced.

3. Control

① Strengthen feeding management, maintain good environmental hygiene, maintain appropriate stocking density, and pay attention to ventilation.

② This disease is a new coronavirus disease. Antibiotics alone are ineffective. Comprehensive prevention and treatment measures such as vaccination, antibiotics combined with antiviral drugs, Chinese herbal medicine, and electrolysis multivitamin should be adopted. The earlier the disease is discovered and the earlier the treatment is, the higher the cure rate will be.

③ At 10 to 20 days of age, inject chicken glandular stomach type infectious bronchitis oil emulsion inactivated vaccine or tissue inactivated vaccine, 0.3 to 0.5 ml per bird; inject again 15 to 20 days before laying eggs, 0.5 ml per bird, which can effectively prevent the disease.

4. What kind of feces do broiler chickens with glandular gastritis produce?

When chickens have proventriculus, they cannot secrete digestive juices (enzymes) normally. When food enters the small intestine, the small intestine function is damaged. If the small intestine is severely damaged, the chance of recovery is very small. Clinical symptoms of proventriculus and gizzard erosion: reduced feed intake, poor growth and development, emaciation, poor uniformity, and feces passing through feed.

The specific manifestations are:

(1) In the early stage of the disease, the chickens are excited and run wildly, their feed intake decreases, and they look for chicken manure on the fence to eat;

(2) Sick chickens then show symptoms of standing still, shrinking their necks, and being listless. They only eat 1/3 to 1/2 of their normal food intake. The growth of the chickens is slow or stagnant, resulting in serious unevenness in the uniformity of the flock, with large differences in size. The average weight is only 1/2 to 2/3 of the standard weight, and they lie on the ground. In severe cases, no chickens move in the center of the chicken rack, and the flocks huddle in piles on both sides of the chicken house to keep warm.

(3) ruffled feathers, pale and shrunken wattle and beard, pale visible mucous membranes, and dry, cool-to-the-touch skin on the legs;

(4) Most chickens have soft, strip-shaped feces; the chickens are emaciated and have diarrhea, and some chickens have brown-red to black loose feces, and sometimes blood is found in the feces;

(5) The disease develops very quickly. Initially, only a few will wilt, but within three days the disease can spread to more than 80% of the group.

Severely ill patients may fall into a coma or die from exhaustion.
