What are some small animals that eat cockroaches?

Cockroaches refer generally to insects belonging to the order Blattodea. About 4,000 species have been discovered. Among them, there are dozens of species that invade human homes and several species that are kept as pets and used as pet food. The vast majority of species can only be seen in the wild, mountain streams, forests or insect museums.

The most common cockroaches in the home include the American cockroach, Australian cockroach and the short-winged cockroach, which are about 5.0 cm (1.2 in) long; the smaller ones include the German cockroach, Japanese cockroach and Asian cockroach, which are about 1.5 cm (0.59 in) long. Cockroaches in tropical regions are generally larger.

Household cockroaches are generally nocturnal and afraid of light, while wild cockroaches have positive or negative phototropism depending on the species.

Animals that eat cockroaches: spiders, scorpions, centipedes, ants, toads, lizards, geckos, birds, cats, monkeys and mice, etc. However, it is impossible to use these animals to eliminate cockroaches, because cockroaches like to hide in various crevices and like to come out to forage at night or in dark conditions. At this time, these natural enemies cannot see them. The best prevention and control method is to kill them by trapping.

Spiders: They mainly feed on insects, other spiders and myriapods. Some spiders also eat other small animals. Jumping spiders have very good eyesight and can lurk and capture prey within 30 centimeters, usually by pouncing on them. Crab spiders will wait for prey on flowers that are close to their body color.

Scorpions: They are completely carnivorous animals. Some species will eat some plant-based feeds. They like to eat invertebrates, such as spiders, crickets, and cockroaches. Centipedes: They like to live in hilly or sandy areas. During the day, they usually lurk in cracks in rocks, corners, and piled leaves. At night, they come out to look for food such as caterpillars and cockroaches.

Gecko: Gecko will hide outside the cockroach nest and kill the cockroach immediately if it dares to come out.

Domestic cat: If you have a cat, feed it less food every day. This way, when the cat is hungry, it will have the energy to catch cockroaches to eat.
