CATDOLL: Do turtle fry like to bask in the sun?

Generally, if no one disturbs them, they will stay in the sun for about 2 hours. The following are the habits of the turtles.

1. Turtle is an amphibious reptile that lives at the bottom of the water. It mainly lives in the water and only comes ashore during the spawning season and in the summer to look for food. It breathes with its lungs and exhales through its nostrils. Most of them are wild and widely distributed. From south to north, there are traces of them in rivers, streams, ponds, and reservoirs. In recent years, there are many professional households raising turtles in the southern Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas.

2. Soft-shelled turtles mainly feed on animal bait. Soft-shelled turtles have no teeth, but they seem to have very hard gums, which can crush all kinds of food, such as small fish, shrimps, insects, frogs, clams, snails, grasshoppers, earthworms and animal viscera, which are all natural delicacies for them. Sometimes they also eat plant seeds. They also prey on insects, grasshoppers, small frogs, earthworms, etc.

3. Turtle lays eggs in late spring and early summer every year, crawls to the shore to build a nest in the sand, covers the eggs with soil, and often hides nearby to watch: Turtle is active frequently in June and July, often floats to the surface to bask in the sun when the wind is calm during the day, and crawls to the shore to "cool off" when it is late at night. In July, August and September, the appetite is the strongest, and it is especially greedy, so it is the best to fish. After October, it hides in the bottom of deep water to prepare for hibernation until March of the following year.

4. Soft-shelled turtles like clean water, running water, sandy and muddy water, quiet places, and places that are sheltered from the wind and facing the sun. They are afraid of being disturbed, cold, and strong winds. Their vision, hearing, and sense of smell are very sensitive, and they are particularly sensitive to the smell of animal viscera. They also have the ability to determine the direction of escape.
