CATDOLL: Does anyone know how to breed earthworms, also known as lid worms?

1. Who knows how to breed earthworms, also known as lid worms?

Earthworm

Earthworm, also known as earthworm, earthworm, etc., is cold, salty, poisonous, and has the functions of promoting lactation, removing blood stasis and relieving pain. It is an important Chinese medicinal material. Artificial breeding of earthworm is a low-cost and high-profit family sideline. The breeding and processing technology is introduced here.

1. Build a breeding pit

Five pits can be built in an area of 3.5 meters long and 0.5 meters wide. Each pit is separated into five layers by cement boards, for a total of 25 pits. Each pit has an area of 0.33 square meters. Soil is placed in the pit, and there should be a wall behind the breeding pit. The breeding soil can be sandy, clay or loam. After the soil is crushed, a small amount of plant ash is added to make the water content reach about 20%. The breeding soil for 1-4 instar nymphs should not exceed 6.7 cm, and 10 cm is appropriate for nymphs and adults over 5 instar.

2. Feed

Bran and rice bran are good for fine feed; leaves of Ailanthus altissima and Elm elm are good for rough feed, and various grasses, vegetable leaves, fruit peels, etc. are also acceptable. For nymphs from the 1st to 4th instar, some dry soil can be placed on the surface of the breeding soil, and the fine feed can be sprinkled on it. For nymphs and adults over the 5th instar, a layer of rice husks 3.3 cm thick can be sprinkled on the surface of the breeding soil, and then the fine and green feed can be sprinkled.

3. Feeding and Management

The maximum density of earthworms is 9 kg per square meter. Because they have the habit of eating eggs, the density cannot be too high. From June to September, feed daily, preferably in the morning. In other months, feed once every other day. When molting, feed less or no concentrate. The breeding pit should be dark, and leave small holes of 3.3 cm in length in the upper left corner and the lower right corner for ventilation. When the temperature is higher than 38℃, open the pit door to cool down. In the low temperature seasons of winter and spring, artificial heating can be used to keep earthworms from hibernating, so that commercial insects can be produced twice a year. Artificial heating can be maintained at a temperature of 27-32℃.

4. Artificial breeding

Earthworms need to go through egg laying, nymphing, and adulting to complete one generation. It takes about 8 months for males to mature; it takes 9 to 11 months for females to mature. The mating period is from June to October, and females lay eggs one week after mating. When artificially incubating eggs, put a ceramic bowl into a large aluminum pot, then mix the egg mass and hatching mud and put it into the bowl. Add water between the pot and the bowl, heat the pot, and keep the water temperature at 32 to 35 degrees Celsius. Nymphs will hatch after 40 to 60 days.

5. Harvesting and Processing

In order to increase the commercial rate, male nymphs and female adults can be soaked and dried during processing. Except for the male nymphs that are kept for seed, all male nymphs should be soaked and dried for processing. The weight of female nymphs is the highest when they are 9 to 11 years old, and the drying rate can reach about 40%; the drying rate of male nymphs at the age of 8 is about 30%. The economic benefits of harvesting at this time are higher. The specific time is from late August to before wintering. After the fresh worms are soaked to death, they are washed and dried to be the finished product.

Most of the earthworm farming is a scam. Don't trust the advertisements and be cautious.

3. Is earthworm breeding a scam?

Earthworm (earthworm) farming is a scam, the money is not that easy to make.

1. The breeding of Chinese earthworms was broadcast on TV, which made many people believe it and ended up losing all their money.

Earthworm is the Chinese medicine name of the common earthworm, which is widely distributed in my country. The medicinal name is Su Tuyuan. Earthworm contains high protein, fat and sugar. In addition to medicinal and edible uses, people often use it as live feed for animals and rare birds and animals, high-end feed for pets, precious fish bait, production of handicrafts and specimens. Breeding points

Earthworms 1. Breeding conditions: Earthworms like to live in dark, moist, loose soil rich in humus. They are very adaptable and can be raised anywhere as long as a certain temperature and humidity are maintained.

2. Three-dimensional factory breeding. The equipment used to raise earthworms is relatively simple, and plastic basins can be used for small-scale breeding. If you want to breed earthworms on a large scale, you can adopt a three-dimensional multi-layer breeding platform. The specific method is: lay bricks against the wall in the house, and the height of each layer should be about 30-38cm. It is best to use cement boards for the layer boards, and 5-7 layers of breeding platforms can be built on each wall. Practice has shown that this kind of breeding platform can make the indoor temperature 6-10℃ higher than that of a flat pool, and the growth and development of earthworms is significantly accelerated. It only takes about 7 months to complete a generation, and the annual output is significantly increased.

3. Feed configuration. Earthworms are omnivorous insects. They can be fed with anything that pigs can eat, such as wheat bran, rice bran, cake meal, green fodder, potatoes, vegetable leaves, bones, etc. They only need to be fed once every night. Earthworms are the most voracious food for earthworms, so they can be used in breeding.

4. Scientific management. Scientific management is the key to success in artificially raising earthworms. Mites are common parasites in raising earthworms. The prevention and control methods include using trichlorfon and 20% mite egg ester powder, mixing them into the breeding soil with a 1:400 dilution. Mites can also be removed by replacing the breeding soil in time or using fried dough sticks, bones, and pumpkin flowers as bait.
