CATDOLL: How to raise locusts, how to sell them, and to whom to sell them?

There are specialized buyers

Locust, commonly known as "grasshopper".

1. There are three types of migratory locusts in my country: the East Asian migratory locust, the Asian migratory locust, and the Tibetan migratory locust. Among them, the East Asian migratory locust has the widest distribution range in my country and causes the most serious damage. It is the main type of migratory locust that causes locust plagues in my country. It mainly harms Poaceae plants and is an agricultural pest.

2. Artificially bred East Asian migratory locust species. The East Asian migratory locust has a fast reproduction capacity and grows into an adult in 2 months. In the north, it produces two batches each year, one in May-July and one in July-September. In the southern region, it can produce multiple batches a year. It is advisable to raise locusts in a ventilated and sunny place. Use bamboo strips and bamboo sticks to support a rack, and then cover the whole with locust-specific gauze to prevent the locusts from escaping. The suitable temperature is 25-35 degrees, and the best temperature is 25-28 degrees. If it is too hot, you can provide proper shade. Locusts mainly eat grass with pointed leaves (such as artificially cultivated ryegrass, Mexican corn grass, royal bamboo grass, etc., and wild grasses include reeds, foxtail grass, corn leaves, sorghum leaves...)

3. Locusts do not need to be fed with feed and grain during the breeding process. They mainly need grass to meet their nutritional needs for growth. The most feared thing for locusts is eating grass with pesticides. If they eat poisonous grass, they will die immediately. The density of locust breeding is too high. Locusts will kill each other when they are hungry, especially at noon. If there is no grass in the locust shed, they will kill each other fiercely. They generally do not kill each other at other times. "Dry harvests grasshoppers and floods harvest fish." Locusts do not like it to rain all the time.

4. If it rains for a long time, locusts will not eat because of the humidity and they will starve to death. It is best to pay attention to rain and moisture protection when it rains.

5. In Thailand, there is a booklet called "Eating Insects", one of the dishes is "Locusts Fried with Shrimp". In my country, there is a book called "Edible Insects and Recipes" which also introduces the edible and nutritional aspects of many insects. It clearly states that locusts contain 73.5% protein, 18 kinds of amino acids, and a total content of 20.3%. Locusts also contain vitamins B1, B2, E, A, carotene, and a variety of vitamins, 4 kinds of fatty acids, and rich trace elements. Commonly eaten species include Chinese rice locusts and East Asian migratory locusts.

Society is developing rapidly, and people are no longer satisfied with chicken, duck, fish and meat for three meals a day. With the improvement of living standards, eating insects has become a special delicacy on the table in many places. In Thailand, there is a booklet called "Eating Insects", one of the dishes is "Locusts Fried with Shrimp". If it rains for a long time, locusts will not eat because of humidity and they will starve to death. It is best to pay attention to rain and moisture protection when it rains. The profit of raising locusts is to buy locust eggs once, hatch locusts and lay eggs over and over again, endlessly. But the locust eggs bought home in the first year are mainly for breeding seeds. The first batch of locusts will not be sold, and each will produce 40-90 eggs. Only after the eggs of this batch of locusts come out can part of them be sold, because there must be enough seeds for the locusts in the second year. So the investment in locust breeding can be large or small. The minimum investment can start with a few hundred yuan, and there is no limit to the maximum investment. The profit of locusts is determined by the quality of your breeding and the size of the area. The maximum output per square meter is 2-3 kilograms of locusts, and the minimum is 1-2 kilograms of locusts, two batches or more per year. Well-fed locusts can produce more than 200 per kilogram, and poorly fed locusts can produce more than 300 per kilogram. The purchase price depends on the market every year, but in the five years I have been engaged in locust breeding, the sales of locusts have not been lower than 20 yuan per kilogram. This is the lowest price. Although it doesn't seem to be a very troublesome thing to raise locusts, it is also very hard to do, because the weather for feeding locusts is very hot. The hotter it is at noon, the more you need to feed the locusts well, otherwise they will kill each other. Many friends are not sure when they start to raise locusts. If they invest too much, they are afraid that the breeding will not be successful, and they are even more afraid that they can't sell them. If they invest less, they will do other things while taking time to raise them. In the end, the locust breeding is not good, and other things are not done well. Many people end up in failure. At the beginning, they were afraid that they could not sell them. Although I purchase them every year, I mainly purchase live locusts from my side. After collecting them, we have to package and freeze them for sale. It is difficult to transport them to me because they are too far away. In fact, what we do is often man-made. The sales of locusts are still blank in many places, and people are needed to develop and sell them. There is a market only when there are products. If you can have a few restaurant owners to help you sell them, it is not a problem to sell them. If you can raise tons of locusts, you can also find some frozen aquatic products and game aquatic products for wholesale sales.

Among the locusts here, only rice locusts are collected at the agricultural product market. But rice locusts are wild!
