What types of bees are there?

Types of bees:

1. Big Bee

The giant honey bee is a larger species of honey bee, distributed in southern Yunnan, southern Guangxi and Hainan in my country. Because their single combs are arranged in rows, they are often called row bees, and because they build their nests on cliffs, they are often called rock bees. They are ferocious and have gregarious habits. There are several or even hundreds of colonies of bees on the same rock wall or big tree. The upper part and both sides of the honeycomb are honey storage areas, and the lower part is the breeding area. Each colony of bees can produce about 50 to 80 kilograms of honey a year.

2. Little Bee

The small honey bee is a smaller type of bee. It often lives in river valleys with an average annual temperature of 15-22℃, hillsides on the edge of basins, cultivated areas or around villages. It is mainly distributed in southern Yunnan and Longzhou, Shangsi and other places in southern Guangxi. It often builds a single honeycomb in the secluded place in grass or bushes, so it is also called small hanging bee, small grass bee, small wormwood bee, etc. The nearly spherical top of the hive is the honey storage area, the middle and lower parts are the insect breeding area, and the three types of cells are clearly differentiated.

3. Black Bee

The black honey bee is the largest bee species in the world and produces the highest quality honey. It is mainly distributed at the foot of the snow-capped mountains around the Himalayas, so it is also called the Himalayan honey bee. The honeycomb is in a single vertical direction, up to 1.5 meters long and about 60 centimeters wide. The upper part is the honey storage area and the lower part is the breeding area. Constant groups or dozens of groups of bees live on the same steep cliff. Each group of black honey bees can produce about 40 to 80 kilograms of honey a year.

4. Black Bee

The small black honey bee is an important pollinating insect of tropical cash crops. It is small in size and is often called the small-comb bee because it builds a single nest comb on small trees. It is mainly distributed in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and lives in villages and secondary woodlands below 1,100 meters above sea level. In my country, it has been found in the northern tropical regions south of the Tropic of Cancer, such as Jinghong, Mengla in Xishuangbanna Prefecture in southern Yunnan Province, and Cangyuan, Gengma in Lincang area. Overseas, it is distributed in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran and other places.

5. Sabah Bee

The Sabah bee is a medium-sized bee that has only been found on the island of Kalimantan in Asia so far. Its morphology and living habits are quite similar to those of the Oriental honey bee. It is accustomed to building nests and complex combs in caves. The worker bee's body color is copper-red, and the base of the dorsal plates of the 1st to 6th abdominal segments each has a wide and distinct silver-white velvety band, which is obviously visible when the abdomen swells when sucking nectar. In 1988, the Sabah bee was re-proposed and confirmed as an independent species at the Asian Oriental Honey Bee Conference.

Bees are generally divided into Italian bees, Chinese bees and black bees.

Among them, the Chinese honey bee is a native bee species in my country, and the black bee is mainly found in Xinjiang and Heilongjiang regions.

What is the layered honeycomb?

I don't understand it either. There are many wooden boxes out there. Most of them are imported from Italy, referred to as Italian bees. Most of the bee products in the market are produced by this kind of bees. There is also another kind, the Chinese honey bee. Because of the low honey production and some other reasons, few people raise it now, but the nutrition is much better than the Italian bee.
