CATDOLL: How to keep spiders, what do they eat, do they drink water

1. How to keep spiders, what do they eat, and do they drink water?

It is actually quite simple to raise spiders. Different species have different environments: Ground dwelling: Put coconut soil in a container, not too big, and then add a few drops of water according to the humidity the spider likes. Some species need a water basin, such as roses. Burrowing: Put a high container, not too big, put a lot of coconut soil, or just a small amount of coconut soil for hiding, and then add a few drops of water according to the humidity the spider likes. Tree dwelling: A high container, part of it needs to be filled with water, and then a piece of bark is placed diagonally, such as oil paint. Most tree dwellings are padded with coconut soil underneath, and bark is placed diagonally, and a water basin is placed on the soil, and water needs to be dripped. All spiders can be fed with mealworms, barley worms, cherry cockroaches, Dubia cockroaches, and crickets. It is recommended to feed mealworms and cherry cockroaches to larvae, and barley worms, Dubia worms and crickets to adults and sub-adults. Some spiders need a separate water basin to drink water, such as roses. Most spiders can get water from moist soil and food.

Find a plastic box or fiberglass, square or rectangular with a lid, not too small, at least 20 cm in width and height.

Put at least 3 cm of coconut soil in the spider's home. If you can't find coconut soil, use ordinary soil (not humus soil).

Use a small watering can (available at the entrance of primary schools) to spray water, but don't cover the soil.

, stop when the water reaches half of the soil.

Find a wooden block or a solid object (such as a stone) that is 2 to 3 cm higher than the box and place it diagonally in the box.

It should be inserted at least one-third into the soil.

Spiders need to drink water, so use a mineral water bottle cap to fill it with water and place it in the box, not next to the wooden block.

Don't spray water on spiders.

If it's a spider smaller than your thumbnail, if it's a spider with its wings ripped off, if it's an insect smaller than a spider, anything will do.

Don't attack too hard

Feed it to insects that are smaller than the spider, alive.

After the spider has spun its web, throw a live insect onto it and it will catch the food.

Feed once a day, and they will not die even if you don't feed them for a week. My spiders are still alive and well even without food for half a month. Please note that my spiders are high-quality spiders, not other types.

Add water in three days.

Keep it in a dark place, away from the sun.

Place a forked branch in the box to make it easier for the spider to make a web.

Under the wood block is the spider's home

Like all animals, spiders need to drink water regularly.

Different spiders have different ways of quenching their thirst. For example, desert spiders weave a fine web at the entrance of their hiding hole, which not only covers the hole and keeps it moist, but also traps raindrops or dew on the web. Many other species, such as wolf spiders, use a simpler method and drink dew directly in the morning. Some spiders even absorb nectar~

Many spiders, such as the common garden spider, eat their webs first thing in the morning so that they can absorb the dew condensed on the web. Other spiders, such as whip spiders, can use their pincers to carry water into their mouths.

Black widow spiders or redback spiders don't drink water at all, but suck juice from the bodies of their prey. Wolf spiders, on the other hand, prefer to drink water droplets from the leaves of nearby plants.

2. What do spiders eat? I have a spider, but I don't know what it eats.

In the natural environment, pet spiders generally feed on ground-dwelling insects. Larger species occasionally prey on small rodents. Although some species are called bird-eating spiders, they are unlikely to actively prey on birds, of course, except for sick birds. Under artificial breeding, they are generally fed crickets. Larger species can occasionally be fed with baby mice, but it is not recommended to feed spiders with adult mice, because the counterattack of adult mice may cause casualties to spiders. The frequency of feeding varies from species to species, but there are several principles: 1. No feeding is required within seven days after molting. 2. The smaller the spider, the higher the feeding frequency, and the larger the spider, the lower the frequency. 3. The amount of each feeding must be determined based on the amount of the last feeding, whether there is any leftover food, the size of the belly, and whether there are signs of molting. Try not to exceed 1/2 of the spider's body length, and it would be best if it can be less than 1/3. If you find that the spider has signs of shedding its shell, if you are feeding it with crickets, you must gently crush its head to reduce its activity and prevent it from attacking the spider that is shedding its shell. As for the feed of wild animals, most experts recommend that the food should be as diverse as possible, and the higher the animal, the more so. However, for spiders alone, this is not necessary. Just feeding crickets can roughly meet the basic needs of healthy feeding. Most insects caught from the wild belong to the order Orthoptera, and their nutritional value is almost the same as that of crickets. Instead of doing this, it is better to enhance the nutritional value of crickets, that is, before the crickets are fed to spiders, give them a few meals of fish feed or vegetables. Spiders are not active animals, and the breeding box does not need to be too large. 1-3 cm juveniles can be placed in a 5 cm diameter round box, 4-6 cm juveniles can be raised in a small portable aquarium, and individuals over 6 cm can be raised in a 30x20x20 (cm) box.

Adopt it

What species do you raise? Small spiders that you catch normally, small insects are OK, they should be smaller than spiders. For bird spiders, crickets and small vertebrates are also OK. Spiders only eat living things, not dead things. The most important thing in the winter in the north is the temperature, which should be stable at around 25 degrees, the humidity should be as high as possible, and there should be no less water basins. If the temperature is suitable, you can usually start feeding. Of course, it is better to feed oil gourds, loaches are also OK, or feed raw meat artificially. It may take some time to start feeding, so be patient.

I won a prize. It's terrible. Just now you have the pros and cons of Harvard North Side. I brought it from home to tie the tendons.

3. What do red rose spiders need to eat?

I still keep a black rose spider. It usually eats mealworms (sold in flower and bird markets), mealworms (much larger than mealworms, available in alternative pet shops), crickets (sold in alternative pet shops), mouse pups (available where hamsters are sold), sparrows (only palm-sized adults can be eaten, generally a bit scary), and non-venomous snakes (ordinary water snakes). Note: generally mealworms, mealworms, mouse pups, and crickets are the most cost-effective.

4. What else do red rose spiders eat besides insects?

He eats bugs... If you don't want to catch them yourself, go buy mealworms, barley worms, cherry cockroaches, etc. You can find them online... I really feel a little disgusted by mealworms and barley worms. I threw away the ones that came with my spider. My curly hair has been eating all kinds of bugs I caught, of course they are all alive (I feel a little cruel. I used to let go of cockroaches when I caught them, but now I am happiest when I can catch cockroaches to feed spiders). Although yours is a rose, I think these two are similar to keep. When I was in school, there would always be some bugs flying in in the summer (in the gullies), so I didn't need to take the initiative to catch them and I could feed them. I would feed them to him whenever I caught them, regardless of whether it was regular or not. If his stomach was obviously small, he would take the initiative to catch them for him to eat. You don't have to force him to eat. If he doesn't eat, it means he is about to shed his skin. Now it is not so easy to catch insects at home, so I catch some flies (I didn't expect him to like it so much, he can eat more than ten or twenty flies even with such a big stomach, it is only 4cm...), you don't have to admire me, flies are actually very easy to catch, you can use your hands or a bottle (I used to use my hands, now I just use the bottle with curly hair to catch flies), sometimes I catch some spiders at home for him to eat, but he seems to eat big ones instead of small ones... He is a little picky about spiders, but he absolutely loves flies. So far, he seems to have eaten many kinds of insects, flies, cockroaches, spiders, beetles, German cockroaches, mosquitoes (not enough to fill the gaps between his teeth), etc. There are some that I can't name... Try not to catch flies from crops, for fear of eating pesticides...

Anyway, in a word, there is nothing else to feed except bugs. I wish your roses grow healthily...
