CATDOLL: Do I need to add some water to raise snails? (Do I need to add some water to raise snails?)

1. How to raise snails? Can they be placed in water?

Only water snails can be kept in water. Water snails are usually the size of small field snails. They are very good at removing algae, but yours is probably not. Others will not work. They will die if soaked in water. You should use moist sand or moist moss, bark or other bedding materials. Note that they should also be kept moist.

If you don't create a landscape, but just keep it for fun, you can put water in it, but only a thin layer of water is needed at the bottom. It can't be stuffy, there must be air holes, and there must be a lid that can be locked. Don't underestimate them, they are very strong. Otherwise, they will crawl out at night. No strong light. There must be a shelter in the container for them to hide.

The food is very simple, I like to eat lettuce leaves the most. I eat other vegetable leaves, fruits, watermelon rinds, as long as they are essential.

Be sure to wash off pesticides and clean up residual food and feces in time, otherwise they will become moldy and easily cause disease and death.

2. Do I need to change the water when raising snails?

A: No, snails need water, but not too much. First, find a box, preferably a breathable sealed box with a lid. If you don't have one, you can use an open box. Then put paper towels on the bottom of the box. Then spray it with water, because snails need a humid environment, otherwise they will dry out and die. Generally speaking, you should feed the snails three times a day. Before feeding, check whether the paper towel is clean. If it is dirty, replace the old one with a new one, and then feed it.

In addition, snails do not like sunlight and cannot be kept in the sun. The room temperature between 25 and 30 degrees is the most suitable environment for snails. You can put some vegetable leaves and fruit slices for snails at ordinary times, because snails are omnivores and like to eat these things. They cannot contain salt, because snails are afraid of salt. You can also put some grass or branches in the box to make the snail's living environment better.

3. How to raise snails? How much water do they need?

You can keep it dry or put a small amount of water.

A plastic box or a glass jar will do, as long as it has a place to absorb

Snails are vegetarians, so just feed them cabbage leaves.

4. Do snails need any water?

unnecessary.

No additional water is needed during the breeding process, as it can obtain moisture from food and air. Feed mainly plants such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits, especially juicy buds and plants, and keep the air humidity at around 70%-80% to obtain moisture.

Don't worry about whether it is thirsty or not. Just feed it some fruits and vegetable leaves. For example, cabbage leaves are a good choice. Generally, when feeding, just rinse the leaves clean.

5. Do I need to spray water when raising snails?

Wet it with water from a spray bottle, or use a temperature and humidity regulator.

Snails lay eggs in the soil. When you find eggs, separate them from the big snails in time, otherwise they may be eaten. It is recommended that:

1. If the breeding soil is relatively clean, take the big snail out and do not move the snail eggs. If the covering soil is too deep, dig out some of the soil. Generally, covering about 1 cm is enough.

2. You can use a spoon or something like that to dig out the eggs with the soil (do not take the eggs with your hands, and do not wash them with water), and put them in a separate container. First, put a layer of soil, then put the eggs, and then cover them with a thin layer of soil about 25px thick. The container does not need to be too ventilated, and pay attention to moisture retention;

The soil should be kept moist for hatching, and not dry. If it is dry, you can spray some water with a spray bottle. The temperature can generally be between 20-30 degrees, and the higher the temperature, the faster the hatching (usually the same temperature and humidity as the big snail will do), and it will take at least 7 days and at most 1 month to hatch.

The newly hatched snails will not eat for the first few days, but will just lie there motionless. After a few days, they will start to crawl around. At this time, you can feed them some soft young leaves. It is not recommended to take out the empty eggshells too early, as snails will usually eat the eggshells to supplement calcium (unhatched and broken eggs should be cleaned up in time, otherwise they will stink).

The snails are relatively weak after giving birth, so add some concentrated feed to their food and feed them for more than a week.

Daily care:

In addition to the above cleaning and feeding, you should also pay attention to the ambient temperature and humidity. The temperature is generally maintained between 20-30 degrees, and the most suitable temperature is around 25 degrees. Long-term temperatures below 20 degrees or above 30 degrees may cause snails to hibernate, become sick, or even die. It is recommended to buy a temperature and humidity integrated thermometer to monitor the ambient temperature and humidity.

In summer, try to place the snail in a well-ventilated and cool place indoors, away from direct sunlight. If the temperature is too high, it needs to be cooled down. Generally, you can turn on the air conditioner to cool it down. Experts can also use a semiconductor refrigerator with temperature control.

In winter, heating is required depending on the situation. Generally, pet heating pads, electric heating films (floor heating in Northeast China), air conditioners, etc. are used. Remember, the heating pad must not be placed directly under the box! ! ! Also, do not directly touch the box! ! ! It is recommended to place it on the side of the box, with a little distance or a layer of books between the two; when heating, the temperature must be monitored at all times. In addition to the above-mentioned thermometer and hygrometer, it is recommended to buy an ordinary alcohol thermometer to measure the temperature of the soil surface at any time. Generally, it is good to control it at around 25 degrees; when there is heating in Northeast China, the room temperature can reach more than 20 degrees and there is no need for heating;

Humidity is also important. Snails generally prefer an air humidity of about 80%. In summer or winter, when heating, it is recommended to use a spray bottle to spray some water mist in the breeding box every day, and at the same time, ensure that the box is well ventilated; high temperature and high humidity are the main causes of shell shrinkage disease. If the temperature is too high and there is no condition to cool it down, then the humidity must be kept low.

6. How much water is just right for a snail to live in?

Just spray water twice a day.

Snails are cold-blooded animals that cannot regulate their body temperature. Their growth rate is affected by temperature. To promote their growth in winter, the temperature should be kept at 25-28°C. A dry environment will affect the growth of snails and can be fatal. Therefore, water mist should be sprayed 1-2 times a day in the room and the feeding grid to ensure that the relative humidity of the air in the breeding room is about 85%, the humidity in the feeding grid is 20%-30%, and the environmental humidity of the snail breeding environment is 30%-40%.

7. How much water is needed to raise snails?

To raise snails, you only need a moist living environment with mud and sand, and you don't need too much water.

8. How much water is needed to raise snails?

9. Do snails need to drink water?

A: Snails do not need to drink water directly. They absorb water through food, such as leaves and grass.

The snail is the animal with the most teeth in the world. Although its mouth is about the size of a needle tip, it has more than 26,000 teeth. There is a small hole a little below the middle of the snail's tentacles. This is its mouth, and inside it is a serrated tongue, which scientists call the "radula".
