1. What are the methods and steps for raising earthworms?

To breed earthworms, you need to choose a well-ventilated and sunny site and use a hoe to dig a shallow trench with a depth of ten centimeters. Then cover the trench with an arched sunshade to provide a cool and ventilated environment for the earthworms. When breeding, you can pile decomposed organic fertilizer into the trench to supplement the nutrition for the earthworms.

2. How to raise earthworms at home in summer?

Earthworms usually live in dark, lightless, humid and humus-rich places. So where there are earthworms, the soil is usually very fertile. To ensure that domestic earthworms do not die in the summer, just do this. Add a layer of soil and a layer of straw. Then a layer of cow dung. Repeat this process to make a pile. Keep all the soil moist. Seal it with the outermost layer of cow dung. Cover it with a layer of plastic film to block out light and poke some small holes for ventilation. The earthworms will never die. It is not advisable to make a pile in a place that is exposed to direct sunlight. Shady wetlands without stagnant water are the best places to make a pile.

3. What is the easiest way to raise earthworms?

Pit breeding method: Pit breeding method is to use earth pits, brick pits, dilapidated animal pens, under the eaves, corners of the wall, etc., or you can use stones to build a breeding pond. The best depth of the earth pit for breeding earthworms in this way is about 50 cm. The size of the area does not matter. Add fermented nutrient soil to the pit and you can introduce earthworms. In the later stage, you can add a thin layer of feed on the soil, and the soil moisture should be controlled well.

4. What is the correct way to raise earthworms in a plastic bucket?

Take a round plastic bucket with a height of 40-50 cm and a diameter of 30-40 cm, and drill 4-5 small holes with a diameter of about 5 mm at the bottom of the bucket. Then fill it with fine soft clay, preferably about 10 cm away from the mouth of the plastic bucket, so that the earthworms cannot escape. Then prepare a plastic basin with a diameter about 5 cm larger than the diameter of the plastic bucket, and make a mark at 5 cm and 2 cm from the bottom of the basin. Put the plastic bucket into the plastic basin, and then fill the basin with clean water. The water level is at the 5 cm mark, and a simple earthworm breeding equipment is formed. When the soil in the bucket absorbs the water in the basin and becomes moist, dig it loose, and then you can put in the seed earthworms for breeding.

Feeding earthworms: You can use fermented livestock manure, rice straw, corn hearts, sugarcane bagasse, etc. as feed, or directly feed them banana, pear and other fruit peels, vegetable leaves, leftovers, bean dregs, etc.
