CATDOLL: How to store earthworms after purchase (the easiest way to store earthworms)

1. How to preserve small boxes of earthworms?

Method 1: Low temperature refrigeration method

Earthworms like shade, are afraid of water, dryness and heat, and can survive for a long time in a cool, humid and low-temperature environment. This kind of treatment can be done by utilizing this characteristic of earthworms.

Put the remaining earthworms and soil into a plastic bag. The plastic bag should preferably be black. Then poke several small holes in the bag to facilitate the earthworms to breathe.

Then put the bag into the refrigerator. In this low-temperature refrigerated environment, the activity of the earthworms is greatly reduced, and there is no problem keeping it in there for at least a week.

When using, just take out the bag, and when you arrive at the fishing spot, the earthworms will have regained their activity and can be used whenever you want. Just remember one thing: do not let water enter the bag, as this may cause the earthworms to lack of oxygen and suffocate to death.

Method 2: Watermelon rind cultivation method

People's favorite fruit in summer is watermelon, especially when it is cut in half and eaten with a spoon. For anglers, the remaining watermelon rind is the perfect tool for breeding earthworms.

First pour fluffy and dry soil into the watermelon rind, then use chopsticks to poke some holes, and then spray some water to make the soil relatively moist. Don't spray too much water.

Then pour the earthworms into the watermelon rind. To prevent the earthworms from crawling out, pour two-thirds of the soil in. As long as the soil is dry, spray some water to moisten the soil.

Place the watermelon rind in a cool place. It doesn't matter how long the earthworms stay there before the rind rots. If the rind rots, just put the earthworms and the soil in another watermelon rind. Over time, the earthworms will reproduce in the watermelon rind.

Method 3: Flowerpot cultivation method

If you have flowers or flower pots at home, you can fill the pots to 80% with soil, then water them thoroughly all at once, leave them for about a week, use chopsticks to poke some holes, and then pour the earthworms into the pots.

After that, just turn over the shallowest layer of soil in the flowerpot every week and spray some water. Over time, the earthworms will reproduce themselves, so if you use them economically, you almost don’t need to spend money to buy them.

Earthworms are hermaphrodites and only mate once in their lifetime. They reproduce throughout their lives. As long as they are not dead or sick, they will lay an egg almost every other day. Each egg can hatch an average of 4 to 7 earthworms. As for how many earthworms they can reproduce, it is impossible to count.

2. How to preserve living earthworms?

1.

Place the earthworms in moist and clean soil. The temperature and humidity should not be too high. If the humidity is too high, the earthworms will crawl out, and if the temperature is too high, the earthworms will die.

2.

Prepare a large enough flower pot. Put soil in the pot, but don't fill it too full, otherwise the earthworms will crawl out easily. Put moist and loose soil in the pot, put the earthworms in it, cover it with a layer of newspaper, and sprinkle some water on it frequently with a spray bottle. During the storage process, pay attention to ventilation, and the pot should preferably have holes.

3. How to preserve earthworms bought from a fishing tackle store for a long time?

If you want to keep them longer, you can find a flower pot, get some humus soil for planting flowers, keep the earthworms in it, and place them in a cool place. You can also feed them some fruit peels and fruit cores. The earthworms can not only survive for a long time, but also grow up slowly and even reproduce. The earthworms I raise are raised by digging fertile humus soil from the river. They can be kept for a long time and are still very fat.

4. What is the easiest way to preserve purchased fishing earthworms?

1. Earthworms like shade and moisture, so they should be placed in a cool place.

2. Especially in summer, you must not expose yourself to the sun for a long time.

3. If it has been left unused for fishing for more than 20 days, you can sprinkle some rotten food under the toilet paper to provide enough nutrients for the earthworms. Otherwise, although the earthworms will lick the toilet paper, it cannot keep the earthworms growing well. Instead, they will gradually become thinner and eventually starve to death.

5. How to preserve earthworms?

1. The first and most important step to preserve earthworms is to ensure the temperature and ventilation of your container. You can choose old wooden boxes and old ceramic jars. Flower pots with sealed bottoms are fine, but never seal them. Make sure to keep the soil environment away from light and cool.

2. Then pay attention to the humidity of the soil. If the soil is dry, the earthworms will also dry up. At this time, you can separate the earthworms from the dry soil, add an appropriate amount of water to make the soil moist (if there is too much water, the earthworms will rot), and then put the earthworms into the moist soil.

3. The food sources of earthworms are very wide, such as dead leaves, fruit peels, cow dung, etc. You can mix rotten fruits, peels, leaves, even cow dung and soil that preserves earthworms together as a food source for earthworms.

6. How to preserve the earthworms you bought?

The earthworms you bought can be preserved by putting them together with some moist soil.

7. How to preserve earthworms?

First, find an unused container that can be ventilated. Then, find some relatively clean soil (that is, soil without much pesticide) and put it in the container. Finally, just put the earthworms you bought into the container. Keep the container ventilated during storage, place it in a relatively cool place, keep the soil moderately moist, and feed the earthworms (just the leftover rice grains, no need to feed a lot). In this case, the earthworms will reproduce on their own. I hope my answer can help you!

8. How to preserve earthworms in earthworm boxes?

Fruit peel storage method

Summer is coming, and watermelon is indispensable. After eating the flesh, the rind is left. You can use the rind to store earthworms. Of course, it is best to choose the semi-circular one, dig out the flesh and leave only the rind. It still has a lot of water, so dry it in the sun to dehydrate it.

If the surface is not so wet, put the earthworms in it. If you choose this method to store it, it will generally be fine for three days. Of course, if you sprinkle some fluffy soil in it, it will be fine for a week. If you choose the latter method, you can save the step of dehydrating the peel.
