1. How to raise bees for apitherapy at home?

First, keep it away from light. Bees are impatient and photophilic. When they find themselves locked up, they often die of impatience. The bodies of impatience-dead bees are black. So after bee therapy, we must put the bee therapy box in a dark place, such as a drawer or a dark room. In this way, the bees will think it is night and stay quietly in the bee therapy box to make and eat honey.

Second: Feed them with food - rock sugar. Do not feed them with water. Bees are medical insects that are very particular about hygiene. In order to maintain the hygiene of their living environment, they excrete outside the hive. They would rather hold their stool than excrete it in the hive where they live. Bees often hold their stool like this, which will cause them to die of suffocation or get a big stomach disease or enteritis. Therefore, in order to prevent them from starving to death, only sugar is fed, not water, to reduce their excretion and supply them with energy so that they will not starve to death, and to extend the time they can be kept in the bee therapy box.

Third: The bees need a suitable temperature in the box.

The most suitable temperature for bees to survive is 15-25 degrees Celsius. Bees are cold-blooded animals. When a single bee is stationary, its body temperature is very close to the surrounding temperature. The critical temperature that Chinese bees and Italian bees can withstand is 10-13 degrees Celsius respectively. When the temperature drops to 13 degrees, the bees are frozen. Therefore, it is best to keep bees in our bee therapy box at around 20 degrees Celsius, because if the temperature is too low, the bees will freeze to death. If the temperature is too high, the bees will be excited, and their metabolism will be fast, which will shorten their lifespan and cause death. At around 20 degrees Celsius, the basic survival temperature of the bees is guaranteed without making them too excited.

2. How to keep bees at home?

1. Choose a site. The bee farm should be located in a place that is sheltered from the wind and facing the sun, with clean and dry ground and a large number of nectar-producing crops around. For small-scale beekeeping, the garden in front of or behind the house can be used. The bee farm should not be built along the banks of large rivers or lakes (a small river several dozen meters wide is fine) to prevent the bees from flying towards

3. How to keep bees indoors in the north in winter?

1. Time of entry

The time for the bee colony to enter the room depends on the local climate conditions. In the northern region, it is about mid-November. When the outdoor temperature is basically stable, the ground begins to freeze, and the lowest temperature at night is below -15℃, the bee colony should be moved into the wintering room. Before the beehive is moved indoors, a row of small nails should be nailed in front of the nest door to prevent mice from invading the hive during the winter. When moving the beehive, the box should be kept balanced and gently placed. Try to ensure that the honeycombs do not move in the box, do not squeeze each other, and the bee colony is not vibrated and kept quiet.

2. Arrangement of bee colonies in wintering rooms

The bee colonies moved into the wintering room should be arranged in 2 or 4 rows according to the specifications and conditions of the wintering room. The beehives cannot be placed directly on the floor indoors, but should be placed on shelves. The beehive placement rack is about 45 cm from the ground. When placing 2 rows of beehives, the beehives are placed on the racks against the walls on both sides, with the doors of the two rows of beehives facing each other, and a passage in the middle. When placing 4 rows of beehives, place 1 row of beehives against each wall, and place 2 rows of beehives back to back in the middle. The doors of these 2 rows of beehives are opposite to the doors of the row of beehives against the wall on the opposite side, forming 2 passages. If more than two layers of beehives are to be placed on the rack, the strong colony should be placed on the bottom layer, and the weak colony on the top layer. There should be rodent control facilities in the wintering room to prevent rodent infestation.

3. Management methods after bee colonies enter the room

After the bee colony is settled indoors, wait for the colony to be quiet for a while, then you can open the hive door to lower the nest temperature. On the day the bee colony enters the room, open the indoor doors and windows for ventilation and cooling, so that the indoor temperature drops below 0℃. In the first few days after the bee colony enters the room, pay special attention to keeping the colony quiet and the indoor environmental conditions relatively constant.

The temperature of the bee wintering room should be kept between 4 and -4 degrees Celsius, preferably around 0 degrees Celsius. When the room temperature rises, you can open the indoor vents to increase ventilation, and if necessary, open the doors and windows to solve the problem of cooling. When the room temperature drops, you can try to close the vents while maintaining the indoor air quality, and take indoor heating measures if necessary.

The relative humidity of the bee wintering room should be maintained at 75-85%. If the room is too humid, the uncapped honey in the comb will ferment, and the bees will have diarrhea after eating it; if the room is too dry, the honey will lose moisture, and the bees will be thirsty and eat a lot of honey, causing the bee colony to be restless. If the room is humid, it can be treated with dry sawdust, wood ash and other moisture-absorbing materials; if the room is dry, it can be treated by spraying water on the floor, reducing the indoor ventilation, etc.

In order to keep the bee colony quiet in the winter, the number of times you go in and out of the wintering room should be reduced as much as possible. When checking the bee colony indoors, it is advisable to use a flashlight covered with a red cloth (bees are red color blind).

In the early stage of winter, it is generally not necessary to remove dead bees from the bottom of the hive to avoid disturbing the bee colony. After two months, remove dead bees every 20 days or so. When removing dead bees, move gently and slowly to avoid touching or disturbing the bee colony.

Under normal circumstances, do not open the hive to check the bee colony indoors. You should mainly rely on the condition of the bee colony and observation outside the hive to judge the condition of the bee colony. Open the hive for inspection only when necessary. When opening the hive for inspection, keep the hive in its original position, move it steadily and gently, and proceed quickly.

In the late winter, the living environment of the bees will change due to the influence of the external climate, especially the fluctuation of indoor temperature and humidity. At this time, the bee colony should be checked frequently to find problems and deal with them in time.

4. What is the simplest way to keep bees at home?

Here are the easiest ways to keep bees at home

1. Selection of bee colonies: First of all, you need to choose bee colonies that are adapted to the local climate and other conditions according to your living environment. In this way, the survival rate of bees can be basically guaranteed.

2. Selection of beehives: Because beehives need to be placed outdoors, when choosing beehives, try to choose high-quality and sturdy ones.

3. Bee colony environment: Choose a cooler environment to avoid direct sunlight. It is better if there are flowers and plants around, which is convenient for bees to collect honey and is conducive to improving the quality of honey production. Remember, bee colonies must not be released on rainy days, otherwise a large number of bees will die.

4. Feeding: In addition to releasing the bees to collect honey on their own, they also need to be fed with honey, sugar water, etc. every night. In winter, it is necessary to increase artificial feeding efforts to maintain the survival of the bees and increase honey production.

5. Finally, you must pay attention to your own safety when raising bees, because bees are dangerous and you need to make appropriate protective preparations.

5. How to keep bees at home alone?

1. Site selection

The bee farm should be located in a sunny place with clean and dry ground and surrounded by a large number of nectar-producing crops. For small-scale beekeeping, the garden in front of or behind the house can be used.

Apiary should not be built along the banks of larger rivers or lakes (a small river several dozen meters wide is fine) to avoid the bees being blown into the water and drowning when flying to the other side to collect honey; it should not be built under high-voltage lines, because electromagnetic waves will interfere with the bee colony, making the bees lost or restless; it should not be built near sugar factories or sugar workshops to avoid the bees flying to the workshops and being killed in large numbers; it should not be built in places with vibrations, such as steam hammer operations, next to large electric motors, and in mountain quarries; it should not be built in polluted places, such as manure yards, garbage stations, refineries, etc.; and it is also not suitable to build apiaries in low-lying and humid places.

2. Purchase of bee colonies

Beginners should buy 5 to 10 bee colonies for the first year to try raising them, and then raise more after gaining experience. It is best to buy bees in the spring when the bee colonies leave the room, and it is not suitable to buy bees in autumn. When buying bees, you should choose strong colonies, and buy colonies with 4 to 5 frames of bees in spring. The standard for a full frame of bees is that both sides of the honeycomb are covered with bees. If the honeycomb surface is sparse and not tightly covered, it cannot be considered a frame of bees.

6. How should you keep bees when they come to your home?

When collecting bees, first put on bee-proof clothes, then spray some smoke at the bee colony to force it to leave the honeycomb. Take the opportunity to cut off all the honeycombs with a knife and fix them in the prepared beehive. After putting on anti-sting gloves, directly put the bee cluster into the beehive and pay attention to protecting the queen bee. After the bee colony is basically moved into the beehive, cover the lid and temporarily place the beehive in the original nest position and wait for other honey to return to the nest.

7. How to keep bees indoors?

Bees cannot be kept indoors because bees need to fly into the wild to collect pollen and nectar. They must be placed outdoors, preferably away from residences. When managing and sealing the boxes, do not use any cosmetics.
