How long can deep-sea jellyfish live?

Jellyfish can only live for a few months. The life span of jellyfish is relatively short. Small jellyfish can only live for 1-2 months, while slightly larger jellyfish can only live for about 10 months at most. The life span of different species of jellyfish varies, with an average life span of about a few months. The life span of common ornamental jellyfish is generally about 5-9 months, and some smaller cup jellyfish live for about 2-4 weeks. However, there are also special individuals such as the Turritopsis dohrnii, which can theoretically achieve immortality, that is, regress to childhood and grow again.

Jellyfish are lower organisms and they have no spine. They are animals that live in sea water and they cannot survive without sea water.

95% of the body of a jellyfish is water, so we can see that if a jellyfish dies, it will turn into a pool of water. Jellyfish are carnivorous animals that feed on zooplankton. Brine shrimp and Artemia are their favorites. When breeding jellyfish, there will be special blue lights for lighting. That is because there are zooxanthellae in the body of jellyfish. This zooxanthellae needs blue light to help it form. The zooxanthellae in the body of jellyfish can photosynthesize by themselves, so jellyfish do not need to be exposed to light.

Although jellyfish have a relatively short lifespan, there is one type of jellyfish that is quite special. This type of jellyfish is called the Turritopsis dohrnii. When its lifespan is about to end, this type of jellyfish can regress to its infancy, so it can continue to live on Earth. It is a very ancient animal.
