Types of Crucian Carp

The most common fish in our daily life is crucian carp. Like carp, it is a freshwater fish with a wide range of food and strong adaptability. It often lives in ponds and ditches. Crucian carp is rich in various nutrients such as protein, and its meat is delicious, tender and not greasy. It is one of the fish we often eat. Eating fish regularly can improve immunity, improve eyesight, and beautify the skin. It has a great effect on patients with hypertension, hepatitis, and heart disease. It is a very good tonic for women who have just given birth. It can dredge breast milk and make the breast milk more sufficient. In fact, there are many kinds of crucian carp. After years of artificial breeding and cultivation, there are more and more types of crucian carp. For example, the yellow goldfish we see is one of the fish produced by crucian carp. So now everyone is very curious about what kinds of crucian carp there are? Let me briefly tell you what kinds of crucian carp there are. Let's take a look together.

1. Crucian carp

Native crucian carp is relatively rare in the market, so its price is relatively expensive, but it tastes absolutely better than other crucian carp. The body color of native crucian carp is blue-gray, and it is a naturally grown crucian carp, that is, they can reproduce naturally in reservoirs or ponds, and can be regarded as the most authentic wild crucian carp. Native crucian carp is very wild, with a slightly thinner body and a very obvious spindle cone shape, and its intestines are thin and long. The biggest characteristics of this native crucian carp are that it grows fast, has a very strong disease resistance, is a pan-eating food, and is easy to catch. It has a very strong vitality, and it will not die within an hour of leaving the water, unlike other fish.

2. Engineering Carp

The engineered crucian carp is also called Xiangyun crucian carp. Its appearance is no different from that of ordinary crucian carp, and its back is also blue-gray, but it is smaller in size and has fewer internal organs, so its abdomen is relatively smaller than that of other crucian carps. There was no such species as engineered crucian carp in nature, but after a long period of artificial cultivation, a new species was produced by the intersection of crucian carp and carp, so the engineered crucian carp itself has no reproductive ability. Its characteristic is that it grows fast and can easily get close. Its growth rate is also 3 times that of other crucian carps, but it does not taste so good. The disease resistance of engineered crucian carp is very strong. No matter in which part of the pond or in the ditch, there has been no disease or large-scale death.

3. Highback Crucian Carp

The high-back crucian carp is named because of its high back. It is also the largest crucian carp among all crucian carp species. Its back is silver-gray, black and the color becomes lighter as it goes down until the belly turns white. It mainly eats aquatic plants, moss, humus, etc. in the water, which has a certain purifying effect on the human body. The high-back crucian carp has the characteristics of fast growth, strong disease resistance, strong reproductive ability, etc. It is relatively large, which is conducive to better breeding.

3. White Crucian Carp

White crucian carp comes from Lake Biwa in Japan and was introduced to my country in 1976. Since white crucian carp often lives in the middle and upper layers of the water, it is very easy for us to fish or catch it. White crucian carp has strong adaptability and is relatively resistant to cold and high temperatures. In addition, white crucian carp has a very strong reproductive capacity and a high reproduction rate. Another point is that the breeding cost is relatively low, and the selling price is more than half higher than that of silver carp. Its tail is relatively slender, the body color is silvery white, and it looks like a hunchback. White crucian carp is also a common variety on the market.

4. Reed Carp

Reed crucian carp is also called Pengze crucian carp. It is also a breed that is artificially cultivated like the engineering crucian carp. The back of the reed crucian carp is light black, and its back is silvery white. The reed crucian carp likes to live in the reeds very much, and there are black lines on its back like the reed flowers, so it is called reed crucian carp. It has a very short head, and its fins are all blue-black. The color of the back is dark gray-black, and the belly is gray. The individual reed crucian carp is large, but the growth rate is not very fast.

What kind of fish is Giant Carp?

Is it the Senko giant crucian carp? ?

Crucian carp is the most traditional high-quality fish favored by consumers. Xianke giant crucian carp is a new crucian carp variety successfully bred by fish breeding experts after years of intensive research, combining traditional breeding techniques with modern biological techniques. The fish has excellent body shape, body color, and meat taste, grows very fast, has high yield, and has good breeding benefits. It has a bright market prospect; at the same time, the fish has strong disease resistance, a wide range of diet, is cold-resistant and hypoxic, can withstand long-distance transportation, is easy to catch, and cannot reproduce by itself. The biological characteristics of Xianke giant crucian carp and its breeding methods are briefly described as follows:

1. Biological characteristics

Xianke giant crucian carp lives in the middle and lower layers of the water body. It has a habit of living in groups and is gentle in nature. It is suitable for high-density breeding. The water temperature for its survival is 0-38℃, the water temperature for feeding is 10-35℃, the water temperature for growth is 15-32℃, and the salinity is 0-7‰. It is resistant to hypoxia and will not die of lack of oxygen even if the dissolved oxygen in the pond water drops to 1 mg/L. The critical point of dissolved oxygen is less than 0.25 mg/L, and death will only occur when the dissolved oxygen in the water body is lower than 0.1 mg/L.

This fish is an omnivorous fish that mainly feeds on plant-based feed and has a strong adaptability to bait. In the juvenile stage, it mainly feeds on zooplankton. When the body length reaches more than 6 cm, it begins to eat mainly plant-based feed and also eats organic debris and artificial compound feed. When the adult fish is highly productive, it is mainly fed with hard pellets or expanded pellets with a crude protein content of 28% to 34%.

Xianke giant crucian carp grows very fast and can generally grow to 0.6-1.5 kg after being cultured for half a year to a year.

2. Fish breeding

Xianke giant crucian carp is suitable for high-density breeding in ponds, lake enclosures, and cages in rivers and lakes, and is also suitable for mixed breeding with pond fish. In the pond, 1,500 to 2,000 fish of more than 3 cm are placed per mu, and full-price hard pellets or puffed pellets are fed. After 5 to 6 months of breeding, the individual fish generally reaches about 0.5 to 0.75 kg, and the yield per mu reaches 1,000 to 1,500 kg. The feed coefficient is about 1.5, and the benefits are considerable. In the fish pond, 150 to 200 Xianke giant crucian carp of more than 3 cm are mixed and raised per mu, and 100 to 200 kg of crucian carp can be increased per mu. In cage breeding of Xianke giant crucian carp, 150 to 200 fish of more than 50 grams are generally released per cubic meter. After 4 to 5 months of breeding, more than 100 kg of crucian carp can be harvested per cubic meter.

The economic benefits of Xianke Giant Crucian Carp breeding are remarkable, the commodity value has been recognized by the market and consumers, and the product demand is huge. Therefore, the breeding future of "Xianke Giant Crucian Carp" is bright. It is an excellent breeding variety to be promoted for scientific and technological enrichment in rural freshwater and coastal low-salt water areas across the country.
