How can we raise crabs at home so that they can live longer?

To raise crabs at home, you need to prepare a basin, water and fine sand. Add water to the basin and put in the fine sand to form a small platform. Tips for raising crabs at home: Don't tie them up.

How to keep crabs alive at home

If there are not too many crabs, you can prepare a plastic bucket with a depth of more than 30 cm. The inner wall of the bucket should be relatively smooth to prevent the crabs from crawling out and escaping. You must not wash the purchased crabs, as they will easily die if washed. Just put the crabs in the prepared plastic bucket. The most important thing is not to let the crabs overlap, that is, only one layer of crabs can be placed.

After the crabs are placed, add clean water. The amount of water should just reach half the height of the crab's body, so that the crab's eight legs can be exposed to the water to breathe when they stand up. The main function of this clean water is to keep the crabs moisturized. Adding too much water will cause the crabs to lack oxygen and suffocate to death.

After adding water, place the bucket in a cool and ventilated place indoors (do not place the bucket in the sun, use breathable gauze or cotton cloth to block the light when necessary), do not cover it, and change the water once a day.

This method is simple and practical for keeping crabs temporarily. When the temperature is not too high, it can even be kept for more than 5 days (the indoor temperature does not exceed 15°C) without the crabs dying. If there are more crabs, you can use a larger plastic basin or directly use the family bathtub.
