How to raise red carp?

(1) Fish tank: Before putting new fish into the tank, put 3% salt in the fish bag and soak it for 15 minutes to kill some pathogenic microorganisms on the surface of the fish. Then put the fish into the fish tank. (2) Light: Red carp are afraid of heat but not cold. In summer, the fish tank should not be placed on the sunny side to avoid heat stroke and death of red carp. (3) Feeding: Feed once or twice a day. (4) Filtration: Install a filter. If there is no filter, clean the fish feces in the fish tank in the morning and evening to keep the water clean. (5) Density: Koi have a large appetite, so it is better to keep it at a sparse stocking density. 3-5 fish per square meter is appropriate. (6) Water change: Change the water every 2-3 days in summer. Change the water every 4-5 days in spring and autumn.

1. Choose carefully when buying: When buying red carp, choose lively ones, without any damage, with longer tail fins and uniform color.

2. Change the water: After buying the product, first use the water that came with it, and then add the water you have dried at home the next day. Gradually, you can use only your own water.

3. Cool down in summer: Red carp are afraid of heat but not cold. In summer, try not to place the fish tank on the sunny side. If you place it on the sunny side, use cardboard or curtains to block the sunlight to prevent the red carp from dying from heat stroke. Once heat stroke occurs, immediately put it in cold water and place it in an air-conditioned room so that it can recover.

4. Feeding: Red carp feeding is relatively worry-free. They will eat continuously after they are bought. When you are busy at work, you can feed them once or twice a day. If you want them to grow quickly, you should feed them some live food such as red worms.

5. Filtration: Red carp have a large appetite. Almost every time they come to the fish tank, they will swim over to you to ask for food, so there will be a lot of feces. It is best to install a filter. If there is no filter, you need to use a plastic tube to suck out the feces once in the morning and once in the evening every day to keep the tank water clean.

6. The fish tank is spacious: Red carp are much larger than tropical fish, and they eat a lot and grow fast, so you should change to a larger fish tank according to their body length to allow them enough space to swim.

How to raise red carp so that it won’t die easily?

How to raise ornamental red carp

1. Selection and configuration of aquarium

Koi are large and active, so the aquarium should not be too small. It should generally be 120*45*45 (cm) and hold about 200 liters of water. It should also be equipped with a filter and an aerator. Some filters come with an aerator, which is more convenient.

2. Water temperature control

Koi is a wide-temperature fish. The suitable water temperature is 5-30℃, and the most suitable temperature is 21-27℃. However, Koi cannot adapt to the rapid change of water temperature. If the temperature difference is more than 3-5℃, Koi will get sick. Koi is suitable for weakly alkaline water with a pH value of 7.2-7.4, and the water has low content of iron ions, chloride ions, sulfate ions, etc., sufficient dissolved oxygen, and low hardness.

3. Feeding

Koi is an omnivorous fish. It eats mollusks, fragments of higher aquatic plants, benthic animals, and even tiny algae or artificial synthetic pellets. It is best to feed artificial synthetic pellets and baits. Bean cakes, vegetable cakes, bread crumbs, fish worms, clams, crab meat, duckweed, etc. are also acceptable. Be careful not to feed too much. Koi are relatively greedy. If you feed too much, you will suffer from food accumulation or constipation. Therefore, you should pay attention to the amount and frequency of feeding, and follow the principle of feeding small meals frequently, no leftover bait, and no water damage.

But if you want the koi to be brightly colored, in addition to the lighting, background and water quality, it is more important to feed the koi with highly nutritious special synthetic baits containing astaxanthin and other natural color enhancers, which is beneficial to the koi's color enhancement.

Bait can be placed alone or alternately. For hatched young fish, you can initially feed them rotifers, water fleas or egg yolks. Small fish of about 2 cm should be fed with baits such as bloodworms. For fish that grow to more than 5 cm, they can eat any animal or plant bait.

4. Water quality

Koi require higher water quality conditions, preferably neutral water pH 7-7.5. If the aquarium is dirty and white, it is easy to cause fish diseases, so attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the water.

5. Mixed breeding is not suitable

Koi is a large ornamental fish, and its habits are quite different from other ornamental fish. Different species of fish are not harmonious when kept together, so it is best not to keep them together with other fish.

If it is a red carp, and you want to keep it in a fish tank, you should buy an oxygen pump, otherwise it will not be able to breathe normally in the water. If it has an oxygen pump, it will live well.
